List of Visions
July 22, 2026 at 04:09 AM
Added Aileen, Cecil, Bartz, Squall, and Tidus, and detailed Zidane's kit
Final Fantasy Resonance includes 26 Visions in total, according to the producer: 16 legacy heroes from the mainline series, one for each numbered title from FINAL FANTASY I through XVI, and ten more tied to this game's own story. FINAL FANTASY XI is represented by Shantotto and FINAL FANTASY XIV by Y'shtola. This page lists every Vision that has been individually named, and it deliberately lists no guesses about the rest.
Eleven Visions have been individually named so far: eight legacy heroes and three story-side characters. Official role words and element profiles appear below where Square Enix has provided them.
Vision | Origin | Role / Elements | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
FINAL FANTASY | Earth, lightning, and light attacks; abilities that protect allies | Official bio calls him a warrior of light chosen by the crystal | |
FINAL FANTASY VI | Commando; fire, water, and ice magic with consistently high damage | Listed under her Japanese name Tina on the official Japanese character page | |
FINAL FANTASY VII | Lightning and water attacks; abilities focused on critical damage | Former SOLDIER 1st Class; keeps his signature Cross-slash | |
Zidane | FINAL FANTASY IX | Not yet detailed | Named in announcement-period coverage; kit unrevealed |
Tidus | FINAL FANTASY X | Not yet detailed | Named in the announcement press release; kit unrevealed |
FINAL FANTASY XI | Commando; repeated lightning, water, and dark casts | Leads the Federation of Windurst's Senate; one of the Three Magi | |
FINAL FANTASY XIV | Fire and ice stagger magic plus HP restoration | A Miqo'te met in La Noscea; grows stronger as more varieties of magic are used | |
Clive | FINAL FANTASY XVI | Not yet detailed | Inclusion confirmed by Square Enix; kit unrevealed |
Story | Defender; ice and water attacks with high durability | Active-service Grandshelt knight, a peer of Rain and Lasswell | |
Story | White mage; recovery, defensive, and status-cure magic | Once fought in a war in another world; Resonance named Healing Wind in preview coverage | |
Story | Black mage; fire, ice, and lightning magic suited to staggering | Once fought in a war in another world |
Role words such as Commando and Defender come from the official English bios. Visions listed without a role or elements have been named but not yet detailed.
Early coverage has reported Lightning as the FINAL FANTASY XIII representative. The producer's one-per-numbered-title statement implies a FINAL FANTASY XIII Vision exists, but Square Enix has not individually named or shown her, so this page treats her as reported rather than confirmed.
The same statement covers representatives for FINAL FANTASY II, III, IV, V, VIII, XII, and XV. None of them has been formally announced by name, though an official menu screenshot lists equippable ability groups under Bartz, pointing to the FINAL FANTASY V hero as one of them. Entries join the table above only once Square Enix presents them officially.
Legacy heroes are unlocked at vision crystal sanctums scattered across the world, where you revisit stories from the original games. Story-side Visions come from character events, side quests, and bonds. Every Vision is earnable in-game, with no DLC. Each one also powers its own Resonance attack with a unique cinematic; see Resonance Attacks. Ability inheritance across Visions is covered at Abilities and Mastery.
Square Enix detailed six more Visions in the July 16, 2026 information release: one from this game's own cast and five legacy heroes. Each entry below records only what that release says about the character's role in this game.
Vision | Origin | Role in Resonance |
|---|---|---|
This game's cast | A weaponsmith as adept at wielding weapons as forging them; lowers enemy defenses with her Pilebunker, and forges weapons for the party from adamantite. | |
FINAL FANTASY IV | Former captain of the Red Wings, the empire's airship fleet. Light and dark attacks; can also defend and heal. | |
FINAL FANTASY V | Travels on his chocobo Boko. Wields a sword imbued with fire and ice magic; staggers foes with relative ease. | |
FINAL FANTASY VIII | A candidate for SeeD. The more he uses standard attacks in a battle, the more damage they deal. | |
FINAL FANTASY IX | A member of Tantalus. Steals items, and saps enemy vitality and speed while augmenting his own abilities. | |
FINAL FANTASY X | A blitzball player from Zanarkand. Hastes the party, then staggers foes with wind and water attacks. |
That brings the individually named count to seventeen. The official site currently publishes legacy Vision artwork for ten slots, numbered by series entry, which leaves six of the sixteen legacy slots unrevealed. This page still lists no guesses about them.
