Square Enix has introduced fifteen characters for Final Fantasy Resonance so far: fourteen with published detail and voice casts, plus Charlotte, a knight covered in the official fact sheet. The story centers on two knights of Grandshelt, the girl who appears from the Earth Crystal, and the armored man who shatters it. Square Enix introduced two more party-side characters and two more members of the Sworn Six of Paladia in the July 16, 2026 information release.

As of that release the official character page carried seven full biographies, plus an explicit note that more were still to come, so the cast above was not the final roster. The page has grown since: Jake and Sakura were added to it on September 4, 2026, taking it to nine full biographies with the same note still attached.

That completes the group at six: Dark, Heavens, Waters, Flame, Earth and Light. Official material gives them a shared goal, the annihilation of the crystals.
Rain
Rain is the main protagonist, a knight of the Kingdom of Grandshelt skilled enough to be entrusted with command of an airship squadron at a young age. Earnest and principled, he refuses to choose one side over another even in dire situations and stays determined to protect everyone. He holds complicated feelings toward his father, Raegen, who left the family behind and disappeared without a trace.
Lasswell
Lasswell is a knight of Grandshelt whose skill equals Rain's, serving as deputy commander of the same airship squadron. Serious and disciplined, he is a model soldier trusted by both his subordinates and his superiors. Orphaned at a young age, he was taken in and raised by Rain's family, and having grown up beside Rain he often finds himself dragged along by his friend's impulsive nature.
Fina
Fina is a mysterious girl who appears from the Earth Crystal, having lost every memory except her own name. Cheerful and pure-hearted, she excels in white magic and archery and can even communicate with espers. She cannot remember where she learned those skills, or why she can speak with espers at all.
Veritas of the Dark
Veritas of the Dark is an armored man who suddenly appears before Rain and the others, destroys the Earth Crystal, and launches an assault on Grandshelt. He is one of the Sworn Six of Paladia, and with the August 24, 2026 release all six are named: alongside him stand Veritas of the Heavens, Veritas of the Waters, Veritas of the Flame, Veritas of the Earth and Veritas of the Light. Wielding overwhelming power, he schemes to annihilate all the Crystals.
Unnamed Mysterious Woman
One announced character's name is withheld, shown on the official site only as a row of question marks. She is a mysterious woman bound by a deep enmity to Veritas of the Dark, and she travels alongside Bahamut. She primarily wields offensive magic, described in Japanese materials as mainly black magic. She often teases Rain and presents a playful front, but a strong, unwavering resolve lies beneath the lighthearted demeanor.
Jake
Jake leads the rebel army that opposes the Zoldaad Empire, the military nation that holds the Fire Crystal. Official material describes him as breezy and easily distracted, with a heart that beats fervently for his countrymen and a determination to do whatever it takes to end their suffering under the empire's boot. In battle he makes luck his ally, fighting with chancy abilities such as Coin Toss and Gamble Shot.
Sakura
Sakura is a sage of Mysidia, the magiapolis. She appears to be a young girl, but her true age is unknown, and she speaks in a manner that suggests an ancient soul, which has led many to believe she is far older than she looks. Her magical prowess is described as placing her a cut above other mages, while her origins and identity stay a mystery. Two of the Visions revealed alongside her tie back to her directly: the black mage Victoria has deep ties to her, and the white mage Ayaka was chosen by her as a pupil.
Charlotte
Charlotte is a knight of Grandshelt in active service and a peer of Rain and Lasswell, and she appears early in the story. She also doubles as one of the story-side Visions: equipped in battle, she serves as a resilient Defender who fights primarily with ice and water attacks. As of September 12, 2026 no voice cast has been announced for her.
Visions
Characters from across the Final Fantasy series, and several from this game's own story, also appear as Visions: crystallized essences that party members equip to borrow skills and stats in battle. Charlotte is one of them, alongside the white mage Leah, the black mage Tronn, and legacy heroes such as Cloud and Terra. The August 24, 2026 release added five more from this game's cast: Amelia, Camille, Wilhelm, Victoria and Ayaka.
