Zidane is one of the legacy Visions in Final Fantasy Resonance. Square Enix's own text first names him in its July 16, 2026 information release, which also detailed his kit. The official character page pairs him with FINAL FANTASY IX.

Profile
Square Enix introduces him as a member of Tantalus, a theater troupe and thieves' band. As a Vision he steals more than items. He saps an enemy's vitality and speed while augmenting his own abilities, so each theft is both a debuff and a buff. Japanese material names the moves directly, but not consistently. The July 16, 2026 Japanese announcement calls them Steal HP and Steal Speed, matching the English "vitality and speed", while an August 16, 2026 Japanese Vision video calls the first one Steal Power. Square Enix has not reconciled the two, so this page records both.

Obtaining and Raising Him
Square Enix's general rules for legacy Visions apply to Zidane. Crystals of past FINAL FANTASY protagonists are obtained by visiting the Sanctums of Light erected around the world. A party member who equips his crystal can use his magic and abilities, and a stronger bond with the Vision unlocks more of them. Staggering every enemy in one turn lets the party trigger a Resonance, a Vision-specific special attack, and Square Enix says the special moves of the series' past protagonists are rendered in 3D graphics. Any Vision can also be awakened with limited magicite across three stages, unlocking higher-tier techniques and magic; see Vision Awakening.
Further details
As of October 24, 2026, Square Enix's official English text has not named Zidane's elements or his Resonance. His unlock route and selected abilities are detailed below.
