FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE released in three editions: Standard, Digital Deluxe, and a Collector's Edition exclusive to the SQUARE ENIX Store. Pre-orders opened on June 9, 2026, the day of the announcement, ahead of the October 22, 2026 launch. Every bonus item is delivered in-game through the same postbox pickup, described at the bottom of this page. The free demo released on September 3, 2026 is separate from all three editions and costs nothing, and its save data carries into whichever edition you buy.
Since the October 22, 2026 launch, the Steam, PlayStation and Xbox storefronts in the United States sell the Standard Edition at $49.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $59.99, and owners of the Standard Edition can add the deluxe pack later through the Digital Deluxe Upgrade. The pre-order offer ended at launch on the Steam, PlayStation and Xbox storefronts, and early buyers there receive the Squire Kickstart Pack as an early purchase bonus instead; both are covered below.
Edition Pricing
Edition | United States | United Kingdom | Europe | Japan (tax included) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Standard Edition | $49.99 | £49.99 | €59.99 | ¥7,678 |
Digital Deluxe Edition | $59.99 | £54.99 | €69.99 | ¥9,878 |
Collector's Edition | $209.99 | £189.99 | Sold in euros via the European SQUARE ENIX Store | ¥25,500 |
Square Enix prints all three United States prices in its own product information, the Collector's Edition at $209.99 included, so the figure does not depend on a retailer listing. Some storefront widgets omit the Collector's Edition row for the United States; that is a listing artifact, not a different price. Storefront prices can also differ from this table: on October 22, 2026, the Steam listing in the United Kingdom showed £39.99 for the Standard Edition and £49.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition, while the PlayStation Store showed £49.99 and £54.99.
Format Availability
Packaged copies exist only on the Nintendo and PlayStation platforms. The Digital Deluxe Edition is a download bundle of the base game and the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack.
Edition | Package (physical) | Download (digital) |
|---|---|---|
Standard Edition | Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 | All six storefronts: Nintendo eShop (Switch 2 and Switch), PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store (Xbox), Steam, and Microsoft Store on Windows |
Collector's Edition | Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 (SQUARE ENIX Store only) | Steam variant only, which substitutes a Steam Digital Deluxe Edition key for the physical game |
Digital Deluxe Edition: Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack
The Digital Deluxe Edition bundles the base game with the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack. Square Enix also sells the pack separately for owners of the Standard Edition, listed in Japan as the Digital Deluxe Upgrade at 2,860 yen, the price the Japanese PlayStation Store shows. In the United States, Steam and the Xbox store list the same add-on, the FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE Digital Deluxe Upgrade, at $14.99; the Steam version went on sale on October 22, 2026. Square Enix's English launch announcement names the pack's exclusive item the Archwitch's Grimoire and describes it as unlocking a certain character's Fel Meteor Limit Burst. The Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 upgrades are separate products and are not compatible with one another, so the upgrade has to match the version of the game you own.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Magitek Armor Key | 1 | Changes the chocobo's appearance into magitek armor; toggled on or off under Items in the main menu |
Archwitch's Grimoire | 1 | Exclusive to this pack; teaches the Fel Meteor Limit Burst to a certain character who joins the party |
Mastery Ring | 1 | Accessory that boosts affinity with equipped Visions, so bonds build faster and their abilities unlock sooner |
Tent | 5 | Consumable |
Mist Potion | 5 | Consumable |
Mist Ether | 5 | Restores MP for all battle members |
Phoenix Down | 5 | Consumable |
Remedy | 3 | Consumable |
The Fel Meteor line item now has a system behind it. Square Enix has since detailed Limit Bursts as a standard battle mechanic: every character fills a limit gauge by staggering an enemy or by taking damage, then spends it on a personal finisher, some of which hit hard while others hand the party a lasting advantage. The Archwitch's Grimoire therefore adds an entry to a system the whole cast uses rather than granting a one-off item effect.
Collector's Edition
The Collector's Edition is a SQUARE ENIX Store exclusive, offered in limited quantities. The packaged variants cover Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5; the Steam variant swaps the physical game for a Steam Digital Deluxe Edition key. The physical game ships alongside the Collector's Goods Box, not packed inside it, and a standalone Collector's Goods Box without the game was also offered, at $150.00 in North America.
As of October 23, 2026, Square Enix's Japanese store lists both of its Collector's Edition items as sales ended, and its North American store lists the standalone Collector's Goods Box as sold out.

Pre-Order Bonus: Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack
Pre-ordering any edition added the Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack, which contains an item that turns the airship's appearance into a magitek vessel along with starter supplies. On the Steam, PlayStation and Xbox storefronts the pre-order offer ended at launch: the Steam listing dropped its pre-order section on October 22, 2026, and the Xbox store's pre-order bundle no longer offers a purchase. Square Enix's North American store page for the physical game still showed the pack as a pre-order bonus for orders placed before November 6, 2026, as of October 23, 2026.
Japan has one wrinkle. As of October 23, 2026, Square Enix's Japanese product page lists this pack for the physical Standard Edition as early purchase bonus number one rather than as a pre-order bonus, with the Squire Kickstart Pack as early purchase bonus number two. The download editions and the Collector's Edition on the same page keep the pre-order label, and the page prints no end date for the physical early purchase bonuses.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Magitek Airship Passkey | 1 | Changes the airship's appearance into a magitek vessel; toggled on under Items in the main menu |
Knight's Greatsword | 1 | Weapon |
Chestplate of Preparation | 1 | Increases EXP gained in battle by a certain amount |
Magicite Shard | 1 | Consumable |
Tent | 3 | Consumable |
Mist Potion | 3 | Consumable |
Early Purchase Bonus: Squire Kickstart Pack
Buying the game within roughly the first two weeks after launch grants the Squire Kickstart Pack. Each storefront states its own cutoff, so check the listing you buy from rather than assuming a single global deadline. The Steam page grants the pack to purchases made by November 6, 2026, at 8:59 a.m. Pacific Time. The PlayStation Store frames its window as purchases made by November 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. local time, and the Xbox store uses the same cutoff.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Blessed Cuirass | 1 | Increases gil obtained by a certain amount |
Mist Ether | 1 | Restores MP for all battle members |
Claiming Bonus Items
Every pack above is claimed the same way: after progressing past a certain point in the game, the items wait in the postbox in front of the inn in the Town of Mitra. The airship and chocobo appearance items are then switched on or off under the Items section of the main menu.
Retail Extras
Two Japanese retail bonuses have been announced for physical orders. The SQUARE ENIX e-STORE adds a Jumbo Cactuar 3D sticker, roughly 56 x 70 mm and limited in quantity. Physical orders through Amazon Japan come with an original sticker.
Japanese Editions and Pricing
The Japanese lineup is broader than the global one, with physical releases and a retailer-exclusive edition that have no direct counterpart elsewhere. All prices include tax.
Edition | Price | Platforms |
|---|---|---|
Standard, physical or download | 7,678 yen | Physical on Switch 2, Switch, and PlayStation 5; download on all five platforms |
Digital Deluxe Edition | 9,878 yen | All five platforms |
Collector's Edition | 25,500 yen | Switch 2, Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam |
Amazon Japan bonus edition | Standard price | Switch 2, Switch, and PlayStation 5; adds an original sticker |
The Collector's Edition is a limited-quantity exclusive of the Square Enix store. On Steam it works differently: instead of a disc plus an upgrade code, buyers receive a Digital Deluxe Steam key on their store account page.
Japanese Pre-Order Deadlines
Square Enix published Japanese pre-order bonus deadlines, and both have now passed. Download pre-orders on My Nintendo Store, the PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store had to be placed by 23:59 JST on October 21, 2026; the Steam deadline was 00:59 JST on October 23, 2026. Square Enix's Japanese store additionally included an oversized Cactuar sticker with both the physical Standard Edition and the Collector's Edition, while quantities last.
