Helmets occupy the head slot of the Druid's loadout. They are a slot separate from body armor, allowing players to mix and match defenses. Specific helmet types, stats, and set bonuses are still unconfirmed.
Role in the Loadout
Specific defenses. Helmets often carry resistances against particular damage types or status effects, complementing the broader physical mitigation on body armor.
Perception slots. In comparable ARPGs, helmets sometimes carry visibility, awareness, or critical-hit bonuses. Whether Fatekeeper's helmets do is unconfirmed.
Visual presence. Helmets affect the Druid's silhouette in the trailers. The team has shown both heavy-helm and hooded-cloth variations in pre-launch footage.
First-Person View Considerations
Fatekeeper is a first-person ARPG, which changes how helmet design matters compared to a third-person ARPG. The player rarely sees their own helmet on screen, so cosmetic helm design matters less for moment-to-moment immersion than for preview / cinematics. Conversely, helmets that obstruct the screen edge or alter the field of view (closed visors, half-cages, breathing slits) are a real design lever the team can use to convey weight at the cost of visibility.
In practice this likely means most helmets are visually neutral inside the FPV bubble, with their identity living in inventory tooltips, looted set names, and silhouette in cinematics.
Hood vs Helm
Pre-launch trailer footage shows the Druid in a heavy hood as a baseline, with full helms appearing on enemies more often than on the protagonist. Hood-versus-helm works as both a cosmetic identity slider and a defensive trade-off: hoods favor mobility and class fantasy, helms favor mitigation and full-face protection.
Synergies
Helmet Style | Likely Build Fit |
|---|---|
Closed-face helm | Bruiser, two-handed melee, parry-counter |
Open-face helm | Hybrid melee + magic |
Hooded cloth | Ice Shatter caster, Pyromancer, Consumable Alchemist |
Light circlet | Dagger Skirmisher, fast magic |
Open Questions
Specific named helmets are not revealed.
Weight categories, mixed set bonuses, and visibility implications in the first-person view are pending the Early Access build.
Whether helmets have transmog / appearance overrides for cinematics is unconfirmed.
The Named Helmet Roster
The roster below is compiled from the 0.1.3 game files by the player community. Paraglacial has not published an item list, so treat exact numbers as approximate and expect them to move between patches; the names themselves are stable and several of them appear verbatim in shipped change logs.
Seven named helmets appear in the 0.1.3 files. Unlike chest armor, helmets carry no weight class, and the higher-rarity entries lean into offense rather than mitigation, which makes the head slot the more build-defining of the two armor slots.
Helmet | Rarity | Stat Lines | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
Full Helmet | Common | Pierce Resistance +5%, Slash Resistance +5% | A neutral opener against bladed enemies |
Ceremonial Helmet | Rare | Health +25, Stamina +15 | Melee builds that run out of stamina mid-exchange |
Darkguard Helmet | Rare | Physical Resistance +7%, Health +5 | The straightforward mitigation pick |
Lizardskin Headdress | Rare | Elemental Resistance +15%, Poison Resistance +10% | Caster-heavy and poison-heavy encounters |
Pyromancers Circlet | Epic | Casting Speed +20%, Fire damage +10% | Fire builds, and the single strongest caster item in the roster |
Basinet of the Omniscient | Legendary | Health +10, Mana +10, flat resistance | Hybrid builds that want both pools raised |
Radiant Crown | Legendary | Physical Resistance +4%, Attack Speed +5%, Melee damage +5% | Melee builds that want offense out of the head slot |
The Pyromancers Circlet is the clearest example of the head slot doing build work: a 20% casting-speed line is larger than most single skill-tree investments, which makes finding it a bigger deal for a caster than any chest piece currently in the files.
