Initial version (2026-09-15)
Wade (ウェイド, Traditional Chinese 韋德) is the protagonist of Eternal Anima. He is introduced under the epithet 記憶なき反逆者, the rebel without memories, and is described as a cool-headed and unflappable ace of Revision, the peacekeeping organisation that enforces order in the floating city of Urvis Ael. His name is one of only four in the cast that exists in confirmed official English, printed on the character art cards shown in official product photography.

The published profile states that Wade has no memories from more than three years ago. That is the exact shape of the claim, and it is worth holding to it precisely. Shorthand descriptions of him as an amnesiac circulate, but no official text uses that word or says anything about how the memories were lost, whether they can be recovered, or what he was doing before the three-year mark. The profile ties the gap directly to his motive: he leaves the city in search of his own roots as well as of freedom.
Wade carries an ability called Psychometry (読思術), which reads Anima, described in official copy as the source of all things. Reading the memories that dwell in an object yields the knowledge of the era that object comes from, and lets him inherit the classes and skills of the past heroes who once owned it. The details of that inheritance belong to Psychometry and Anima and Classes and Skills.
One small detail is genuinely unresolved in the source material. The Japanese site places the ability in his right arm (主人公の右腕の異能), while the Traditional Chinese site places it in his right hand (主角右手的異能). The English copy specifies neither. Both are first-party, so this is a divergence rather than an error, and it should be left open until one of them is corrected.
It is the awakening of this ability that turns him against the city. The profile says plainly that awakening Psychometry made him doubt the false paradise the Almighty built.
The same ability has a combat use. In battle Psychometry reads the enemy's killing intent (敵の殺意), making the outcome of their next action visible before the player commits. That is the in-world framing for the mechanic covered in Future Sight, and it sits inside the turn-based command combat described in Battle System. The killing intent wording appears only in the Japanese and Chinese copy; no English source uses it.
Urvis Ael holds that living days without change is right, and treats any word or deed leading to evolution or development as a serious crime. English copy puts the same law more bluntly, as one unbreakable law against progress of any kind. Wade questions that tenet, is branded a heretic and is hunted. He then throws himself into The Forbidden Sea in search of an unknown world.
Official copy does not say who pursues him after he is branded, and it does not say whether he formally leaves Revision or is expelled from it. Both are open as of 15 September 2026.
From there the published story summary has him travelling the past and the present of four lost continents, joined by what the English materials call an eclectic group of new allies, saving civilisations of the past from catastrophes and uncovering a lost history. The structure covers two eras only, past and present, rather than a freely roaming timeline; see Time Travel and Story.
Note that the four lost continents of the story copy are not the same published list as the regions shown on the official world navigation. Nothing in official material states that Urvis Ael, Port Azurea or Ambulis is one of those four, and World and Setting sets out why the two lists should be kept apart.
Vallis, captain of Revision's South District, is named as Wade's partner, earnest and caring, supporting him both on and off duty, and holding a near-fanatical devotion to the Almighty along with an absolute regard for the city's order. The Almighty is the ruler whose paradise Wade comes to doubt. Neria, a warrior of Port Azurea, is a former resident of the same city who escaped it and hates both its ruler and Revision, though official copy does not state whether she and Wade meet or travel together.
As of 15 September 2026 there is no age, no stated background before the three-year memory line, no starting class, no weapon, and no English voice credit. The official site carries an individual character video for him, as it does for every revealed character, but no further profile text accompanies it. Nothing about his role in the ending, his fate, or the identity of whoever hunts him has been published, and none of it should be inferred.
