Everything below comes from official pre-release material published between September 2026 and 15 September 2026. It is deliberately spoiler-light, because that is all that exists: the game is unreleased and no official source has published anything past the opening situation and the shape of the journey.
The False Paradise

The story opens in Urvis Ael, written in Japanese as 白の都 and in Chinese as 白都, the White Capital. It is a chalk-white city that floats in the sky, isolated from the world outside and ruled by The Almighty, a king who has lived a thousand years. Living days without change is held to be right there. Any word or deed that leads toward evolution or development is a serious crime, and English-language copy states the tenet flatly: hoping for a better future is a capital offense. Order is enforced by Revision, the peacekeeping body that answers to the Almighty.
The Almighty is one of the very few who know of the lost continents and the history behind them. He forbids progress as folly that breeds tragedy, and holds the city inside an eternally unchanging today. Official copy from the Western publishers frames Urvis Ael as the last bastion of civilization in a world without land, consumed by an endless sea, under one unbreakable law: no progress whatsoever.
Wade
Wade is a cool-headed ace of Revision and, by the terms of his own city, a model citizen. He also has no memories from more than three years ago. His epithet on the official site is 記憶なき反逆者, the rebel without memories.
What changes him is the awakening of Psychometry, an ability that reads the memories dwelling in objects. Reading them makes him doubt the false paradise the Almighty built. Official copy is careful about the order of events here: the ability comes first, the doubt follows from what it shows him, and the search for his own roots and for freedom follows from the doubt. Psychometry and Anima covers how the ability works.
Some coverage has described Wade as amnesiac in the clinical sense. No official text says that. What official text says is that he has no memories from more than three years ago, which this wiki states and no more.
The Leap
Questioning the city's central tenet gets Wade branded a heretic and hunted. He responds by throwing himself into The Forbidden Sea (禁海, also written 禁断の海 in one Japanese sentence and 禁忌之海 in Chinese) in search of an unknown world. Western publisher copy writes it in the plural, the Forbidden Seas; the storefront copy writes it singular. Both are first-party and the difference is cosmetic.
Across Two Eras
Beyond the sea Wade falls in with what official English copy calls an eclectic group of new allies. Together they travel through the past and the present, learning what inherited wisdom means and what it means to inherit. Their stated purpose is to travel through time to save civilizations of the past from catastrophes, and in doing so to uncover a history that has been lost.
The structure is two eras rather than an open timeline, and the official Japanese phrasing is explicit about that: 過去と現代の2つの時代, the two eras of past and present. Nintendo's storefront listing names this the game's story pillar under the heading 【過去改変】, past alteration, subtitled as connecting the histories of two eras. See Time Travel for what the developer has said about the design.
The Four Lost Continents, Stated Carefully
Official story copy says Wade travels the past and present of four lost continents. Separately, the official site's world navigation has five slots, three of them revealed and two marked as coming soon. These are two different lists, and no official source maps one onto the other.
This wiki therefore does not claim that Urvis Ael, Port Azurea or Ambulis is one of the four lost continents. Urvis Ael floats in the sky and Port Azurea floats on the sea, so neither is a continent at all. Exactly one continent is named anywhere in official copy: the Rotala Continent (ロタラ大陸; the romanization is ours), which is mentioned only inside the profile of M.O.S. as a land that flourished on magical energy long ago. Whether Rotala is one of the four lost continents is not stated.
Themes
The two words the developer keeps returning to are 継承, inheritance, and 進化, evolution. They are built into the systems as well as the plot: the growth system is literally named 叡智継承, the inheritance of wisdom, and the story is about a city that has outlawed the second word. For where the cast fits into this, see Characters and World and Setting.
