Dimraeth is a hybrid action role-playing game for one to eight players, developed and self-published by Mudtek. The Early Access version releases on PC on 15 September 2026. It is set in the handcrafted pixel-art realm of Mirkea, and the developers describe it as a blend of deliberate Souls-lite combat and deep character progression with crafting and base building.
The player is given an ancient power by accident and drawn into a war against Sylbos, Last of the Ogre Magi. Play alternates between expeditions into the wilds and returns to a home settlement to craft, cook, farm and build. The whole campaign can be played alone or in seamless drop-in and drop-out co-op.

Premise and Setting
Corruption is spreading across Mirkea. Sylbos, Last of the Ogre Magi, "seeks to claim Dimraeth and the power upon which it stands". The venerable wizard Faustas recruits the player to stand with Mirkea's free peoples against Sylbos and the dark gods. The hook is stated plainly on the storefront: "By a twist of fate, you are granted an ancient power you do not understand." A second official wording describes the player as gifted with immortality by a broken ritual.
Earlwood Village anchors the opening act. It stands on the border between the Human Kingdom of Aldoria and the Eternal Forest, home of the elves, and was founded three centuries ago as a lone homestead. A June 2025 devlog calls it "a town of outcasts, of those seeking a second life", populated by Minotaurs, Elves, Dwarves and Humans bound by circumstance rather than blood. When the player arrives, fear has gripped the town: most quarters are sealed and the guards allow no one through, leaving only the Guild Hall Quarter open as a refuge and the village's last line of defence.
Beyond the village lies the Wildwood, which the same devlog describes as a fractured land of many small kingdoms, each ruled by a Forest King, ancient spirits of nature such as Dryads and Treants, all bound by the will of Ceres, the nature god. Other named places include the Lost Caverns, the Goblin Caves, the farmlands, the Guild Hall, the Great City of Aldoria, the Academy of Arcana and the Minotaur Empire. See regions and locations for the full list and characters for the people who live there.
The art direction was set out in an August 2025 post by the studio's art lead around three pillars: unique visual identity, immersion, and alignment with game design. Earlwood is framed as a quiet seaside settlement at the edge of the continent, with cited real-world reference points in the White Cliffs of Dover, Fingal's Cave in Scotland and Ghenh Da Dia in Vietnam. The colossal statues of the Old Ones are named as a landmark of the world's mythos.
Core Systems
Every system below has its own page. The short version is that a character is defined by an Archetype, fights with a five-spell loadout under a stamina budget, and comes home between expeditions to a base that feeds back into the build.
System | What it covers |
|---|---|
Stamina-governed Souls-lite fighting: dash, a race-specific guard, block, parry, telegraph reading and a five-spell loadout. | |
Race, class, Persona and appearance, all chosen before the first step into Mirkea. | |
The race and class pairing. Each has its own skill tree, its own attribute XP costs and its own passive. | |
Race and class spells, archetype tree spells, and universal magic from crafted spellbooks. | |
A dialogue personality layer: Hero, Stoic, Scholar and Joker. | |
The playable peoples of Mirkea. Race sets the weapon, the combo chain and the base combat kit. | |
The second half of an Archetype, supplying its own spells and tree branches. | |
XP spent on attributes and skill trees. The level cap at Early Access is 25. | |
Food, potions, cures, throwables and spellbooks, made from the backpack or at crafting stations. | |
An isometric, tile-based building system covering furniture, storage, crafting stations and ally facilities. | |
Plots, seeds, wells and animal or monster pens for passive resource streams. | |
Gear taken mainly from monster drops, plus the equipment sets arriving with Early Access. | |
Nine unique pets with different abilities at Early Access. | |
One to eight players, peer to peer, with one player hosting. | |
Main and side quests, Deeds, Bounties, timed events and relationship quests. |

Release and Platform Status
The developers gave the date as September 15th in a post on 2 July 2026 and repeated it on 15 July 2026. Regional release times were published on 2 September 2026 alongside the Early Access trailer.
Dimraeth is a PC release with full Steam Deck support. On other hardware the official position is unchanged: "At this time, we don't have confirmed plans for console releases." No price had been published as of 12 September 2026.
The storefront also carries self-declared age ratings rather than ratings-board decisions: 14 under the Brazilian system, 12 under the German system, and 18 under the Indonesian system, the last citing online interaction and violence.

What Arrives With Early Access
A post on 2 September 2026 listed the major additions in the Early Access build.
Addition | Detail |
|---|---|
New race | The Elf. See races. |
New class | The Shadow. See classes. |
Two new regions | The expanded Wildwood forest and the Goblin Caves. |
New world bosses | Major bosses for each region, plus new elites and new dungeons. |
Pets | Nine unique pets with different abilities. |
Character options | Male and female options for every race, and improved character customisation. |
Skill trees | A skill tree overhaul. |
Building and crafting | Furniture, equipment sets, crafting stations and further base building options. |
Content | New quests and NPCs. |
Difficulty | Difficulty levels appear on the list, but Easy, Moderate and Hard have been in the game since July 2023 and Moderate has been the default since April 2025, so this entry most likely describes a revision rather than a first appearance. |
Level cap | 25, raised with each new act. The demo and playtest caps were different. |
Languages | German, Korean, Spanish, Russian and Japanese join the continuing Chinese and Portuguese (Brazil). |
In June 2026 the developers estimated the Early Access content at "around 4x what you currently see in the demo". A roadmap detailing the content rollout during Early Access was promised in the 2 July 2026 post.
What Is Not in the Early Access Build
Each of the following was verified against first-party statements on 12 September 2026.
Not present | Detail |
|---|---|
Equipment crafting | A January 2026 design post stated equipment crafting was not in the game and was planned as a late Early Access activity for min-maxing, keeping monster drops as "the primary loot path for the majority of the game". Storefront copy written for the launch does mention crafting equipment at home, so the two first-party surfaces do not agree and no post has confirmed the feature landing at launch. |
Console versions | No console release is confirmed and no console plans have been announced. |
Dedicated or private servers | Co-op is peer to peer with one player hosting. |
Local or split-screen play | Not supported. |
An MMO structure | The developers state directly that Dimraeth is not an MMO. |
A public demo | The demo closed on 15 July 2026 after roughly 60,000 players, because features had diverged widely from the Early Access build. A re-release "would likely need to be rebuilt quite a bit". |
A published price | None as of 12 September 2026. |
The rest of the 1.0 roster | As of 12 September 2026 no first-party source has named any race beyond Human, Minotaur, Fairy and Elf, or any class beyond Brawler, Magician and Shadow. |
Credited composer, writer or voice cast | As of 12 September 2026 none is named in any first-party material. |
Development and Studio
Mudtek describes itself as "a fully remote team of 10 developers spread across the globe". Dimraeth is the studio's first title and is self-published, a point the team made directly on 2 September 2026: "This being our first game and self-published we've learned a lot". Three people are named in public material: Phillip, Game Director, who writes the monthly design deep dives and the playtest briefings; Joseph, Founder and Technology Director; and Vancris Balanon, who signed the August 2025 art post as Art Director while the official team page lists the title as Creative Director. As of 12 September 2026 no first-party source resolves that discrepancy. A narrative director is referred to in the same post but never named.
Development notes reference Unity tooling throughout, and the audio system was moved onto FMOD middleware in March 2024. Public version strings ran from 0.37.19 in May 2023 to 0.98.4201 in October 2025.
