This page covers every character in Dimraeth who has been named on a first-party surface. Most of them live in or around Earlwood Village, where the opening act is based. Two, Sylbos and Faustas, belong to the main story rather than the village.
Characters are not only quest dispensers. Recruited allies move into your settlement, and investing materials in their facilities widens what they offer: bigger shop inventories, additional crafting services, more farming plots. Relationships deepen through play, and deeper relationships unlock new conversations, personal quests and potential romances.

Alaric Audet
Alaric is a legendary folk hero and is described as standing 6.4 feet tall, weathered and sun-tanned, with blue eyes. The qualities the developers attach to him are honour, independence and hard-earned excellence, and they note that he leads by example rather than by instruction.
He was placed in the Guild Hall in August 2024, which puts him in the one quarter of Earlwood that remains open when the player arrives. As of 2026-09-12 his connection to the main story has not been published.
Befr
Befr is a warm-hearted travelling merchant whose caravan is parked in Earlwood Village. He greets people with a signature "Ho ho!" and calls everyone "my friend". He also has a workbench alongside his goods, so he is a crafting point as well as a shop.
There is more to him than a trader, and the developers say so openly: he hints at a far greater age and a far wider knowledge than a merchant should have. Among the things he mentions is having once lived a week among Dryad sisters. A June 2025 post shows him as an old storyteller with a small circle of children and squirrels gathered around him at nightfall, begging for one more story. What he actually is has not been revealed as of 2026-09-12.
Manga
Manga is the Minotaur blacksmith of Earlwood and runs the village forge. He was once a warrior of the Minotaur Empire. His horns were cut off, and that mutilation is the mark of his exile: he refused to take part in a brutal raid, and the Empire cast him out for it.
He follows Praesidiism, the philosophy that strength exists for protection rather than conquest, which reads as the direct answer to the order he refused. He was not accepted in Earlwood immediately; he earned the village’s trust during the Goblin Crisis. Given the forge handles equipment upgrading, he is also one of the more practically useful residents. See Equipment and Loot.
Eldorian
Eldorian is a young Elven adventurer who greets newcomers arriving at the Guild Hall, which makes him one of the first faces the player meets. He is described as skilled with both spear and spell. As of 2026-09-12 nothing further has been published about his background.
Tamsin
Tamsin is an enchanter whose speciality is magical banners. She comes from the Great City of Aldoria and studied at the Academy of Arcana, which makes her the only named character with a stated connection to either. Her health is delicate, a detail the developers give prominence to.
She is a shopkeeper as well as a character: her shop was added in October 2024.
Myrll
Myrll is an exiled forest spirit, with the legs of a doe and the tail of a fox. She lingers at the edge of the forest rather than entering the village, and the developers note that she no longer sings, which is stated as a loss rather than explained.
In gameplay terms she teaches and sells the Seed Bomb spell, which places her as a source of nature magic. See Spells and Magic. Her exile has not been explained as of 2026-09-12, and the developers have not stated whether she is connected to the Forest Kings or to Ceres.
Faustas
Faustas is the wizard who recruits the player against Sylbos and, in the developers’ phrasing, the dark gods. He is the closest thing the game has to a stated mentor figure, and he is old in development terms: he was created as an NPC in August 2023, well before the story around him was made public.
A scene named Faustas’ Rest was created in March 2024, redesigned the same month, and had plants and a training dummy added over the following months. See Regions and Locations.
Sylbos
Sylbos is the antagonist, titled Last of the Ogre Magi. He seeks to claim Dimraeth and the power it stands upon, and the player is recruited specifically to stop him. The title implies both an order of ogre spellcasters and that Sylbos is the last of them, but neither the order nor its end has been described.
As of 2026-09-12 no first-party surface has shown Sylbos in the game, given him a design, or explained his relationship to the dark gods he is named alongside. See Mirkea for the setting he is moving against.
Saqi
Saqi is named exactly once, in an October 2023 fix line correcting the NPC’s position. The name appears nowhere else in any published post. Saqi’s role, species, location and current presence in the game are all unknown as of 2026-09-12. The character is recorded here because the name is first-party, not because anything is known about them.
Service NPCs
Alongside the named residents, Earlwood has role NPCs who exist to run a facility. These five were added together in August 2023.
NPC | Function |
|---|---|
Real Estate NPC | Property dealings in the village |
Training Hall Monk | Staffs the training hall |
Tavern Singer | Performs in the tavern |
Balloon Keeper | Operates the hot air balloon service to the islands |
Fisherman | Attached to the harbour and fishing shop |
A dedicated questgiver NPC, village guards and old villagers were added in August 2024, and further unique and general NPCs in July 2025. None of those has been individually named.
Talking to Characters
NPC conversation is keyword-driven. The chat interface was built in September 2023 around a keyword model, a dialogue system was implemented in August 2024, and a keyword list was added to conversations in September 2024. Players register in and out of conversations, and a player list pane sits inside the NPC chat so co-op partners can see who is talking.
Relationship depth is the layer on top of that. The developers describe friendships and romance as a core part of the design, with each bond unfolding through its own questline and personal moments. One caution on timing: at the September 2025 playtest the romance content was still unfinished, and as of 2026-09-12 no first-party statement confirms which relationship questlines are complete in the Early Access build. See Quests and Deeds.
Characters Cut or Unconfirmed
Nothing on this page is cut content, but the wider cast has changed over the years, and some figures from older builds have no confirmed present status. Those are recorded on Development History rather than here, so that this page stays a list of characters the player can expect to meet.
