Farming is deliberately the smallest system in Dimraeth. The developers call it intentionally simplified: you build plots, plant seeds, and harvest when the crop matures. There is no separate skill to master and no simulation layer sitting under it. Farming exists to feed the kitchen and the potion bench, and it is described in the same January 2026 design post that covers crafting and base building.
How It Works
Step | What Happens |
|---|---|
Build a plot | Plots are placed through the base building tools, on the same tile grid as everything else you construct. |
Plant seeds | Seeds go into a built plot. |
Harvest at maturity | The crop is collected once it has grown. The developers have not published growth times as of 2026-09-12. |

Expanding Your Plots
Plot count is not fixed. Investing materials into the facilities of allies you have recruited opens more farming plots, alongside widening shop inventories and adding crafting services. Farm capacity is therefore bought with the same materials as everything else in the settlement, which makes it a genuine competing use for what you bring home.
Wells, Pens and Quarries
Three structures produce without being replanted each cycle. Wells and animal or monster pens are described by the developers as passive resource streams, sitting alongside plots in the same functional part of a base. The current store description adds quarries to that group, naming farms and quarries together as the structures you build "for a steady supply of crops and raw materials".
Structure | Notes |
|---|---|
Wells | A passive resource stream. No output rate has been published as of 2026-09-12. |
Animal or monster pens | A passive resource stream. Monster pens are named alongside animal pens, but no first party source has said which creatures can be penned or what they produce. |
Quarries | Named in the current store description as a buildable structure supplying raw materials. As of 2026-09-12 nothing further has been published: no output, no build cost, no statement on whether a quarry is worked by hand or runs on its own. |
Only the quarry has a stated output, and only in the broadest terms: raw materials. As of 2026-09-12 the developers have not said what a well or a pen actually yields. What is clear is the purpose of the group. Together with plots they keep a base supplying itself between trips, so preparing for a fight does not always have to start with going out to gather.
Monster pens are the most interesting entry, because the name implies that something you fight in the world can end up producing materials at home. As of 2026-09-12 the developers have not explained how a creature gets into a pen.
Crops
The one crop named in first party material so far is the tender berry, given as an example ingredient. As of 2026-09-12, no other crop has been named, and no seed sources, yields, growth times or crop count have been published.
What Farming Feeds
Produce is an input, not an end product. It runs into three places.
Destination | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
Food | Cooked food gives percentage based, timed buffs averaging around 30 minutes, covering maximum health, concentration, stamina, regeneration and elemental resistances. |
Potions | Restoratives for health, concentration and stamina, throwable potions that heal an ally mid fight, short term buff potions, and cures for bleed and poison buildup. |
Hunger and thirst | Hunger and thirst are tracked needs in Dimraeth. Patch notes record them being implemented in August 2023 and affecting player speed and strength from October 2023. |
That gives farming a clear purpose. A stocked farm is what turns preparing for a hard fight from a shopping trip into something you already have in the cupboard.
The Farmlands
The farmlands are also a place, not only a base fixture. They were one of the areas featured in the demo build alongside Wildwood Forest and Earlwood Village. As of 2026-09-12 the developers have not said whether the farmlands region and player owned plots use the same system. Regional detail is on Regions and Locations.
