Approach and Terrain
The Southern Riverside Bandit Camp sits on the southern bank of one of Hernand's rivers, using the water as a natural flank and controlling the approach roads from the south. The riverbank position gives the bandits fresh water, a fishing supply, and an easy escape route downstream if pressed.
Like the other bandit strongholds scattered through the Hernand countryside, the camp is a discretionary combat objective. Clearing it removes a hostile patrol zone from the map and typically rewards loot from chests, food caches, and enemy drops.
Enemies
Bandit melee fighters with swords, clubs, or axes
Bandit archers positioned on rooftops, watchtowers, or ridges
A camp captain in the central structure who usually carries the better loot
Rewards and Loot
Crafting materials from wooden crates and barrels scattered around the camp
Silver coins and bandit gear from enemy drops
Occasional recipe scrolls, food rations, and lockboxes
Tips
Scout the camp from cover first. Counting archers before engaging lets you decide whether to pick them off with ranged skills or charge in melee.
Stealth takedowns on outer patrols thin the numbers before the alarm is raised.
Clearing the camp pairs well with collecting any nearby Sealed Abyss Artifact or shrine resources on the same trip.
