Quick Grab is one of Oongka's default skills in the Spirit (Green) skill tree. It is available as soon as Oongka becomes playable and does not require Abyss Artifacts to unlock.
Quick Grab is a defensive counter skill that allows Oongka to grapple an enemy just before their attack connects. Instead of taking damage, Oongka intercepts the incoming strike by grabbing the attacker, turning their offensive momentum against them. The timing window requires pressing Triangle + Circle (Y + B) just before the enemy's attack hits.
This skill serves as Oongka's equivalent of Kliff's Dodge, providing a defensive option that also creates offensive opportunities. After a successful Quick Grab, Oongka can follow up with grappling attacks to capitalize on the intercepted enemy's vulnerable state.
Quick Grab functions as Oongka's equivalent of a parry. The timing window is slightly tighter than Dodge, but the reward is greater because Oongka immediately transitions into a grapple that sets up follow-up attacks like Lariat or a throw. Practice the timing against slow-attacking enemies like bandits in Greymane Camp before relying on it against bosses.
Quick Grab functions similarly to Dodge but rewards aggressive play by turning defense into an immediate grappling opportunity.
Practice the timing against weaker enemies before relying on Quick Grab in boss encounters. The window is similar to a parry.
After a successful Quick Grab, follow up with Lariat or a throw to deal heavy damage to the grabbed enemy.
Quick Grab consumes Stamina, so monitor your reserves. Running out of Stamina after a failed grab attempt leaves Oongka exposed.
Against enemies that chain fast attacks, Quick Grab is particularly effective because it interrupts their combo and gives Oongka the initiative.
Dodge: Kliff and Damiane's primary evasion skill with invincibility frames.
Grappling: Oongka's grappling skill tree that pairs with Quick Grab for follow-up attacks.
Lariat: A powerful slam move that can follow a successful Quick Grab.
Rage: Oongka's Super Armor state for when trading blows is preferable to dodging.
Keep an eye on your Stamina bar when using this skill repeatedly; running out mid-combo leaves you vulnerable.
