Kamu

Overview

Kamu is the farm manager at Greymane Camp in Crimson Desert. He oversees crop planting and harvesting operations and runs a seed shop at camp. Kamu is one of six Greymanes recruited during the "A Rumor in Goldleaf Trading Post" faction quest, alongside Conrad, Wynstan, Alec, Ed, and Ben (the ranch manager).

Kamu is classified as a Shop NPC, which means he stays at camp permanently and cannot be dispatched on missions. Once he arrives at camp, he introduces the farming system and guides players through unlocking the farm facility. The farm operates alongside the ranch, and together they form a self-sustaining supply chain that reduces dependence on vendors and field gathering.

Role

Kamu manages the farm at Greymane Camp. The farm provides 16 dedicated crop plots where players grow grains, vegetables, fruits, and even Abyss-touched plants. The resources produced by farming feed directly into the cooking and alchemy systems, making it a self-sustaining alternative to buying ingredients from vendors or spending time gathering in the open world.

Unlike many RPGs with instant resource collection, Crimson Desert requires players to physically interact with the farm. Planting seeds, watering crops, and harvesting produce are all performed by hand.

Seed Shop

Kamu operates a seed shop at camp. His initial inventory includes apple and grape seeds. His stock can be expanded by reaching 100 Trust with town grocers across Pywel, which unlocks regional Seed Supply Contracts that add new seeds to his shop.

Kamu accepts recipes as gifts to increase his trust level. Higher trust with Kamu may improve farming yields.

How to Recruit

Kamu is recruited by completing the "A Rumor in Goldleaf Trading Post" faction quest. This quest is part of the Grounds of the Sunrise questline, which becomes available after reaching Chapter 3 of the main story. The quest sends Kliff to the Goldleaf Trading Post to reunite with several scattered Greymane members.

Farm Unlock Process

After meeting Kamu, the farm is unlocked through the "Land of Dreams" quest. The unlock process requires completing several steps in sequence:

1. Accept Kamu's request to perform the Apple Picking Mission at Glenbright Farm. This is a dispatch mission that takes approximately 16 in-game hours to finish.

2. Dispatch a construction mission at Howling Hill to build the farm facility. This construction mission takes approximately 18 in-game hours.

Once the construction mission completes, the farm becomes operational at Greymane Camp. Players can then begin planting seeds, watering crops, and harvesting produce across all 16 plots.

Kamu's Request

After the farm is built, Kamu issues a Greymane Commission called "Kamu's Request." This is a tutorial quest that teaches the basics of farming.

Walkthrough

1. Talk to Kamu at Greymane Camp.

2. Plant apple seeds in the pre-prepared farming patches.

3. Wait approximately 3 in-game days for the apple trees to grow.

4. Harvest the apples.

5. Return the harvested fruit to Kamu.

After hearing an account of the growing process, Kamu devises an improved method for instructing the comrades. Completing the quest rewards a Medium Bag and Greymane +50 reputation.
