The Hernandian Champron is a Horse Item of the horse tack variety in Crimson Desert. It provides +7 Attack for your horse mount, making it the strongest known offensive horse tack piece. A champron is a piece of armor designed to protect the horse's head, and this Hernandian variant features a silver plate with golden borders and a horn on the forehead symbolizing the divine majesty of Solumen.

The blue feathers on the champron represent the winds of the rugged cliffs, connecting it to the mountainous terrain of the Hernand region.

How to Obtain

The Hernandian Champron can be obtained from Saddlery Vendors or through the Contribution system in Hernand. Like other Hernandian horse equipment, it may require specific Contribution progress to purchase.

• At +7 Attack, the Hernandian Champron provides the highest Attack bonus of any known horse tack. Combined with Silver Iron Horseshoes (+2 Attack), a fully equipped horse can gain +9 Attack from tack alone.

• Pairs with the Hernandian Barding (+20 Defense) and Hernandian Stirrups (+30 Health per second) for a full Hernandian horse tack set.

• The champron's design references Solumen, the deity worshipped in the Hernand region.

Acquisition Details

The Hernandian Champron can be purchased from Annabella's Saddlery, located northeast of the City of Hernand. Annabella specializes in crafting sturdy horse tack designed to protect horses on the battlefield. She listens to Calphadean soldiers' conversations to learn about preferred gear types, which informs her inventory.

An efficient way to unlock this champron early is to pick up the fishing side quest from the notice board in Hernand. This quest directs you to a saddler vendor northwest of Hernand, who gives you a fishing rod and asks you to catch some fish. After returning the fish and completing the quest, the Hernandian Champron and Hernandian Stirrups become available for purchase. This is one of the earliest equipment upgrades available and provides a noticeable boost to your mount's combat capability.

Mounted Combat Role

In mounted combat, the horse itself does not contribute offensive actions; instead, the rider attacks from horseback using the elevation and mobility advantage. The Hernandian Champron's +7 Attack directly increases the damage dealt during these mounted attacks. Pairing this champron with Hernandian Stirrups further enhances rider stability and mounted attack power for maximum effectiveness.
