Overview
Harvik is an NPC in Crimson Desert. He is the assistant to a mysterious pot artisan, the dwarven master craftsman Grimnir, and is based at the Kilnden Workshop in the Duchy of Hernand. Harvik is himself a dwarf, although he is described as unusually timid for his kind, a reserved nature that holds him back from realizing his full potential despite possessing craftsmanship skill that could rival Grimnir's own.
Players cross paths with Harvik while investigating the broken kilns of the Kilnden Workshop during the main story progression through the Hernand region. He belongs to the same dwarven workforce that, according to the workshop's own description, crafts special pots using kilns forged with ancient techniques.
Location
Harvik can be found at the Kilnden Workshop, a dwarven kiln complex located in the Hernand region, west of Hernand Castle. He is present at the workshop during the Kiln Repair at the Kilnden Workshop quest, which triggers after the preceding Kilnden Workshop task introduces Kliff to the dwarven craftsmen.
Role
Harvik's role at the workshop is that of journeyman assistant to Grimnir, the master pot artisan. The Kuku Pot and the other dwarven vessels produced here are not simple cookware: they are engineered containers tied into the game's Kuku system, built to hold items many times their own size through Abyss-era craftsmanship. Supporting this production requires a skilled workforce, and Harvik is part of it.
Fextralife's description notes that Harvik's skill could rival Grimnir's if he were less reserved. The implication is that he is technically capable of leading projects of his own, but defers instead to the more assertive master artisan. Grimnir, by contrast, is widely described across the community as arrogant and self-centered, the opposite temperament.
Appearance and Personality
Like Grimnir and the other kiln workers, Harvik is a dwarf, the same ancient dwarven lineage associated with the lost arts of kiln construction and Abyss-adjacent engineering in Pywel. His defining personality trait, according to the in-game description, is timidity. He is "unusually timid for a dwarf," and this reserved nature is specifically called out as the reason he has not realized his full potential as a craftsman.
Related Quests
Harvik is tied to the Mysterious Pot storyline, a main quest chain in Chapter 4 that introduces the Kuku Pot and the dwarven craftsmen of the Kilnden Workshop. Within that chain, he is most directly associated with the following quest:
Quest | Role in Quest | Context |
|---|---|---|
Present at the workshop as Grimnir's assistant during kiln reconstruction | 48th main mission; requires repairing four kilns after an explosion, including activating an ancient generator, reconnecting a disconnected kiln, reassembling a dismantled kiln with Axiom Force and Force Palm, and fueling the final kiln | |
Background workforce when Kliff first arrives | 47th main mission; the introductory visit during which Kliff first meets the dwarven craftsmen at the kilns west of Hernand Castle |
The Kilnden Workshop
The Kilnden Workshop where Harvik works is described in-game as a workshop operated by a skilled workforce of dwarves who craft special pots using kilns forged with ancient techniques. It sits in the Duchy of Hernand in the western half of the Hernand region, not far from Hernand Castle. The workshop is the only place in the game where the Kuku Pot can be acquired, and it is central to the Mysterious Pot questline.
When Kliff first arrives, the kilns are damaged and several of the site's dwarves, including Grimnir, are stranded or unable to work. Harvik, as the master's assistant, remains bound to the site and its restoration. After the repair sequence, the workshop resumes operation and the player receives the Kuku Pot, unlocking a separate storage inventory with 230 slots dedicated to Abyss-type objects, machine parts, and other oversized contraptions.
Faction
Harvik is aligned with the Duchy of Hernand by location, the regional polity that governs the lands around Hernand Castle. More meaningfully, he belongs to the tight-knit circle of dwarven artisans clustered around the Kilnden Workshop. He is not a member of the Greymanes and does not appear in Greymane Camp recruitment lines.

Notes and Trivia
Fextralife's description explicitly compares Harvik's latent skill to Grimnir's, suggesting the two dwarves represent complementary halves of the same craft tradition: one loud and confident, the other quiet and underused.
The Kilnden Workshop has received significantly more community coverage than any of its individual NPCs. Guides from PC Gamer, PowerPyx, Game8, GameRant, VGC, TheGamer and VULKK all walk through the four-kiln repair puzzle in detail but focus on the mechanics rather than the workforce. As a result, most information about Harvik specifically comes from the in-game description rather than external walkthroughs.
Harvik's personality (timid, reserved) is unusual for the dwarves of Pywel, who are typically portrayed as proud, loud, and confident in their craft. This makes him a minor but memorable flavor NPC within the Hernand region's cast.
