Overview

Frostward I is a standard passive Abyss Core in Crimson Desert. This resistance reduces damage taken from ice-element attacks and lessens the duration and severity of the Frostbite status effect.

While not universally useful, Frostward I becomes valuable when preparing for fights against ice-themed bosses or exploring snow-covered regions where environmental cold damage is a factor. Players heading into areas like the northern highlands or facing Abyss-corrupted frost creatures will benefit from socketing this core before the encounter.

Purchased from Witch merchants, particularly those in colder regions. Can drop from ice-element enemies.

Standard Abyss Cores like Frostward I can be acquired from Witches who serve as merchants at various camps and settlements across the world. Check with any Witch merchant when you visit a new area, as their inventory may include this core.

Usage and Strategy

Socket Frostward I into any compatible equipment piece (Armor) to gain its Ice Resistance Lv 1 bonus. The effect is always active as long as the core remains socketed and the equipment is worn.

Tips

• Swap this core in before ice boss fights or cold-weather exploration, then replace it with a more general-purpose core afterward.

• The resistance also reduces the slow effect from Frostbite, which can be the difference between escaping a follow-up attack and getting combo-locked.

The recorded Frostward I WitchCraft recipe is one Abyss Cell, one Diamond and any one listed alchemy material: Poison Frog, Tree Frog, Toad or Burrowing Toad. Learn Gear Blueprint: Frostward first. The explicit effect is Ice Resistance Lv.1; the older Frostbite-duration, slow and ice-enemy drop recommendations are unverified details, not a measured immunity or duration formula.
