The Elite Vanguard is a unique two-handed weapon in Crimson Desert. Described as "a unique spear that grants a good bonus to Attack Speed," this weapon stands out for its Level 3 Attack Speed rating, the highest tier available on any stat bonus. It also comes pre-equipped with three Abyss Cores, saving the player the trouble of farming and slotting their own.
At 19 base attack power, the Elite Vanguard does not hit as hard per swing as heavier greataxes or greatswords. What it loses in raw damage it makes up for in attack frequency. The Level 3 Attack Speed means this spear swings faster than most other two-handed options, letting players weave in more hits during the same combat window. The Level 1 Critical Rate bonus adds a small but welcome chance for extra burst damage.

The Elite Vanguard is found in a chest at the end of Bowsprit Cave. To reach it, travel to the Abyss Nexus located slightly below Bowsprit Cape and start climbing toward the cave entrance in the mountainside. The cave itself is a linear path. Follow it to the end, where a treasure chest contains the weapon.
This weapon cannot be purchased from merchants or crafted at a blacksmith. It is a one-time find from Bowsprit Cave.
Like all weapons in Crimson Desert, the Elite Vanguard can be refined at a Blacksmith to increase its base attack power. Refinement supports 10 levels and requires materials gathered from mining and gathering across Pywel. The 17.01 Silver Coin sell price reflects its value as a unique weapon, so think carefully before selling it.
The Level 3 Attack Speed bonus makes the Elite Vanguard one of the fastest two-handed weapons in the game. Use this speed advantage to chain light attacks and build stagger pressure before enemies can recover.
The three pre-equipped Abyss Cores (Critical Rate I, Attack I, Attack Speed I) provide a balanced starting loadout. You can replace them or fill the two empty slots to focus on a specific build.
Spear thrusts have longer reach than axes or swords. Keep your distance and poke at enemies from outside their melee range, then dodge backward when they close the gap.
The combination of high attack speed and Critical Rate makes this weapon pair well with status effects that proc on hit, like poison or bleed.
