Elemental Turning Slash is a Health Skill Tree ability exclusive to Kliff. It allows you to imbue your Turning Slash with an element while using it. The elemental infusion adds bonus damage and can trigger elemental status effects on enemies. This is the first skill in the Imbue Element progression chain, serving as the gateway to all elemental combat abilities.

Upgrade the Imbue Element skill to Level 1 to automatically gain Elemental Turning Slash. Imbue Element itself cannot be unlocked through normal Abyss Artifact spending alone. You must first complete an Abyss Challenge to acquire at least one element (Flame, Frost, Lightning, or Wind). These challenges become available around the middle of Chapter 4.
The three elemental unlock locations:
Flame Strike: Obtained at the Tree of Slumber by solving a puzzle
Frost Mantle: Unlocked at the Spire of Ringing Truth by completing the Path of Trials
Lightning Surge: Acquired at the Courtyard of Precision after solving its puzzle
Storm Veil (Wind): Unlocked later in the game through progression in the Abyss regions above Pywel
Elemental Turning Slash is the entry point for Kliff's elemental combat skills. The progression continues to Level 4:
Level | Skill | |
|---|---|---|
Lv.1 | 20 Spirit | |
Lv.2 | 30 Spirit | |
Lv.3 | 20 Spirit | |
Lv.4 | 20 Spirit |
Note: Damiane's Level 1 Imbue Element skill is Elemental Smiting Strike instead. This reflects her different weapon and combat style.
The element applied depends on your currently selected imbuement through the Axiom Bracelet's radial menu. You can switch elements mid-combat by pressing the corresponding D-pad direction:
Flame: Adds ignition damage over time. Effective for sustained pressure against enemies with large health pools.
Frost: Adds freeze/slow effects that halt enemy movement. Creates openings for follow-up attacks.
Lightning: Adds stagger potential with electrical damage. Builds the stun gauge faster than other elements.
Wind: Adds knockback that pushes enemies away. Useful for crowd control in tight spaces.
Elemental Turning Slash costs 20 Spirit per use, so manage Spirit resources when using it frequently. Focus mode regenerates Spirit, so alternate between Focus recovery and elemental attacks to maintain pressure.
Turning Slash is already a strong wide-arc melee attack. Adding elemental damage on top makes it excellent for AoE crowd control: Frost slows groups, Flame sets multiple enemies on fire, and Lightning staggers clusters.
Use elemental attacks to exploit boss weaknesses for significantly more damage. Some bosses are naturally resistant to specific elements, so pay attention to damage numbers and switch elements if one is not dealing full damage.
Since this is the Level 1 Imbue Element skill, unlocking it is the prerequisite for all subsequent elemental abilities. Consider investing into Imbue Element early in Chapter 4 to access the full elemental progression as soon as possible.
