This Epic-grade weapon can be obtained through various means including quest rewards, merchant purchases, enemy drops, and treasure chests found throughout Pywel.
Enhanced versions of this weapon can be crafted at a workbench using the materials listed in the crafting recipe table above.
At maximum enhancement, Diverging Moon reaches an Attack value of 35, making it one of the stronger options in its category. Investing refinement materials early can pay dividends throughout the mid and late game.
Spears excel at maintaining distance from enemies. Use thrust attacks to poke enemies while staying outside their melee range. Sweeping attacks can catch groups of enemies, but be careful not to overcommit against fast opponents.
As a two-handed weapon, this spear prevents the use of off-hand equipment. Consider your build and playstyle carefully when choosing between the higher damage of two-handed weapons and the versatility of one-handed options with shields or dual-wielding.
The Diverging Moon is one of three Moon weapons, each tied to a different element and Crescent Moon Slash gear. The other two are the Circling Moon and the Grasping Moon. All three gears can be extracted at a Witch vendor and embedded onto a single weapon.
When all three Moon Slash gears are combined on one weapon, they create a devastating crossover effect that shoots ice, fire, and electric sonic booms simultaneously. The attacks alternate between elements, providing excellent AoE coverage and elemental synergy. This combination works particularly well on fast one-handed weapons where the attack speed allows rapid chaining of the elemental projectiles.

The weapon's signature power comes from its embedded Crescent Moon Slash bisk. Triggering the skill unleashes a moon-shaped blade of energy forward, dealing additional damage on top of the regular hit. Like other bisks, the effect occupies an equipment socket and can be extracted or rearranged using the usual bisk tooling.
Activation requires the Keen Senses skill at level 2. The bisk also chains well into standard combos: quick taps of the right bumper trigger follow-up sonic-boom slashes, while the jumping heavy (X while airborne) produces an overhead moon-edge finisher. Experimentation continues to reveal extra combo routes, so players testing the weapon regularly discover new transitions.
Base bonuses: Attack and Attack Speed.
Embedded bisk: Crescent Moon Slash (ranged energy blade).
Sell value: roughly 18.8 silver, which is unusually high for a spear of this tier.
Open the world map and head just under the letter A in "Menace", where you will find the fast travel point next to the Southern Court hamlet.
On first arrival, the court is occupied by hostile villains and a named boss patrols the central square. Clear the rank-and-file enemies first to avoid being sandwiched.
Engage the boss and defeat it to trigger the liberation cutscene.
After the cutscene, the area resets briefly. Run back inside the Southern Court and grab the weapon before leaving the zone, otherwise it is easy to miss.
Because the Crescent Moon Slash bisk can be extracted, even players who prefer other weapon types benefit from finishing the Southern Court fight.
The weapon pairs well with agility builds since the sonic-boom follow-ups reward mobility and quick bumper mashing.
Save before entering the cutscene trigger so you can reload if you forget to grab the spear on the first pass.
