Added identifying Copper Ore (greenish tint), specific deposit details with landmarks, Copper vs Iron farming comparison, and ore respawn mechanics
Copper Ore is a refinement material in Crimson Desert used at the Blacksmith to upgrade weapons, plate armor, metal shields, and jewelry. Copper is slightly more versatile than Iron Ore because it also feeds into jewelry refinements. Like Iron, Copper deposits cluster most abundantly in the Hernand region, particularly along cliffs and mountain walls near river areas.
Copper Ore is gathered by striking ore deposits with a Pickaxe (bought at the Provisioner's Shop in Hernand) or by using the Force Palm Attack. Each deposit contains up to 6 Copper Ore pieces.
The largest concentration of Copper Ore. Approximately 13 deposits sit along the river cliffs in the Hernand area. These deposits are positioned closely together, making the Hernand cliffs the best farming route for Copper.
Copper deposits appear near the Nas River area in Demeniss. The deposits here are more spread out than Hernand but still accessible along the riverbanks and surrounding hills.
Copper can be found in the Gorthak area of Delesyia. Deposits are scattered across the rocky terrain in this zone.
Deposits are available near Tashkalp town. The desert cliffs around Tashkalp contain a handful of Copper Ore veins.
Region | Specific Area | Approximate Deposits | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
River cliffs | ~13 | Densest cluster; best farming route | |
Nas River area | Several | Spread along riverbanks and hills | |
Gorthak | Several | Rocky terrain deposits | |
A few | Desert cliff-side veins |
Copper Ore is used at the Blacksmith for refinement of:
Weapons: swords, axes, spears, and other melee/ranged weapons
Plate Armor: metal chest and leg pieces
Metal Shields: all non-wooden shield types
Jewelry: rings, necklaces, and other accessories
Copper and Iron deposits often appear in the same areas, so you can farm both ores on the same route through the Hernand cliffs.
Because Copper is used for jewelry in addition to weapons and armor, you may burn through it faster than Iron. Prioritize farming if you plan to upgrade accessories.
Each deposit yields up to 6 pieces. With 13 deposits in Hernand alone, a single farming loop can yield around 60 to 70 Copper Ore.
Copper Ore deposits are visually distinct from Iron Ore but can blend into rocky terrain more easily. Look for rocks with a greenish tint on cliff faces and mountainsides. While Iron Ore appears as dark-gray formations, Copper Ore has a subtle green coloring that becomes more noticeable once you know what to look for. When your Pickaxe is equipped, the mining highlight circle appears over valid Copper deposits just like with any other ore.
Beyond the general region descriptions, here are more specific landmarks for locating Copper Ore in each area:
Hernand: Anvil Hill Base - Copper Ore sits at the base of Anvil Hill, just southeast of Hernand City. This is one of the closest deposits to the starting area.
Hernand: Glenbright Manor Road - A Copper Ore vein sits southwest along the road from Glenbright Manor in the Hernand Highlands.
Hernand: River Cliffs - The main cluster of 13 deposits runs along the river cliffs. These deposits are positioned closely together, making them the most efficient farming route.
Demeniss: Nas River Banks - Deposits spread along the riverbanks and surrounding hills near the Nas River. More spread out than Hernand but still accessible on foot.
Delesyia: Gorthak Rocks - Scattered across the rocky terrain in the Gorthak area. The rough terrain means deposits can be harder to spot without careful searching.
Crimson Desert: Tashkalp Cliffs - A handful of veins in the desert cliffs around Tashkalp. The arid landscape makes cliff-side deposits stand out against the sandstone.
Because Copper and Iron deposits appear in many of the same areas (especially along the Hernand river cliffs), you can farm both ores on the same route without any extra travel. However, keep in mind that Copper is used for jewelry refinement in addition to weapons, armor, and shields. This means you will likely consume Copper faster than Iron throughout the game. Prioritize Copper farming if you plan to upgrade accessories alongside your combat gear.
Like other ore types, Copper deposits respawn over time after being fully mined. The respawn timer is tied to in-game time. After clearing the Hernand cluster, you can complete nearby quests, explore other areas, and return later to find the deposits available again. With 13 deposits in the Hernand area alone, a single farming loop can yield approximately 60 to 70 Copper Ore pieces.
