Stirrups provide Health regeneration to your horse, healing it every tick second.
Higher-tier stirrups heal more per tick, keeping your mount alive longer in combat.
Stirrups are one of the five types of horse equipment in Crimson Desert, alongside Saddles, Horseshoes, Champrons, and Bardings. Their primary function is to provide passive Health regeneration to your mount while riding. This healing effect activates automatically and does not require any player input, making stirrups a valuable way to keep your horse alive during long journeys and mounted combat without consuming healing items.
To equip stirrups, summon your horse and mount it. Open the inventory screen and switch to the horse tab (labeled with your horse's name). Navigate to the stirrups slot and equip the desired item. Stirrups remain equipped until manually replaced or until you register a new horse at a stable.
Stirrups are sold by Saddlery vendors found near stables in most settlements across Pywel. Major saddlery locations include:
Hernand Saddlery (Annabella) on the outskirts of the City of Hernand, one of the earliest accessible shops
Eldred's Saddlery on the northern side of the City of Pailune
Demeniss Saddlery (Fiona) north of Demeniss Castle
Calphade Stable and Saddlery south of the Calphade Training Field
Delesyian Main Stable and Saddlery near Finhold Netmakers in Delesyia
Varnia Stable and Saddlery near the Alabaster Bridge entrance to Varnia
Some stirrups, like the Blue Scout and Purple Scout sets, are obtained through Twitch Drops or promotional events. The Exclaire set comes with the Deluxe Edition, and the Hyperion set is exclusive to the Collector's Edition.
All stirrups can be refined at a blacksmith to improve their stats. Refinement does not cost any silver. The only requirement is having the correct raw materials on hand, such as Iron Ore, Copper Ore, and animal hides. At refinement level 5 and above, Abyss Artifacts obtained from Abyss bosses and deep dungeons become required.
Stirrups come in five rarity tiers, each corresponding to a specific Health regeneration value:
Common (+200 per tick): Crude Stirrups, Fine Leather Stirrups
Uncommon (+400 per tick): Blue Scout, Calphadean, Demenissian, Exclaire, Hyperion, Purple Scout, Sahareum, Varnian Stirrups
Rare (+600 per tick): Hernandian, Marcello, Marni, Wells Military Stirrups
Epic (+800 per tick): Berkei, Delesyian, Gold-Decorated Stirrups
Legendary (+1 per tick): Decorative Dragon Head Stirrups
Within the same rarity tier, all stirrups provide identical Health regeneration. The differences between them are cosmetic appearance, regional origin, silver cost, and whether they belong to a matching mount gear set.
