The Chronicle is the main plot of Alabaster Dawn. It is presented as a series of quests that the player has to complete to progress through the game. The game calls these stories, although they are not the same as Stories, which are optional sidequests. The stories are further grouped into Chapters.
A summary of completed and active Chronicle stories appears in the Journal menu, which Juno unlocks once the Prologue ends.
The Prologue is a single story:
The End of the World: a small army of warriors led by Dahmon, equipped with Divine weapons, fights through the hostile lands overrun by the Curse of Nyx. Their goal is the Capital Nest. The power of the gods vanishes mid-mission, leaving the army defenseless and ending in a downer cliffhanger.
Chapter 1 covers the start of Juno's journey, anchored in Koro Valley and the Trial of Aether.
Item | Description |
|---|---|
The Lost Lands | Juno wakes in a world twisted by Nyx and travels through the corrupted Koro Valley to her home village Lyhamn, weaving the Nyx Nest along the way. |
Unyielding Solidarity | Juno wakes after the cleansing surrounded by nature and the returning villagers. Centered on rebuilding Lyhamn through four subquests: |
Branching Out | helping Penterson secure quickwood at Lumber Corner. |
Rice to the Occasion | supporting work at the rice fields. |
Blooming Villain | a third support thread visible in the Journal. |
A Sneak Peak | the final beat where Juno fights the Nyx Avatar outside the village. Only one subquest is fully playable in the current demo; the other three only appear in the menu after they have already been completed. |
Journey up North | Juno follows Remis' direction toward the Aurum Plains, beginning at the Hall of Trials at Remis Rock. The Trial of Aether section forms the playable portion. The story has no listed rewards and cannot be completed in the current build. |
Side stories (proper noun "Stories") run in parallel with the Chronicle but are tracked separately in the Journal.
Some Chronicle entries cannot be viewed during play (the menu is locked early on). The full text only becomes available after the Prologue ends.
Forward-looking parts of the Chronicle (Chapters beyond 1) are planned for the full Early Access roadmap and are not yet documented in-game.
