The Trial of Cryo is the second major dungeon in Alabaster Dawn, introduced as a gameplay preview in version 0.2.0 on October 2, 2026. It accompanies the Scala Moor swamp-region preview and the new Cryo Aspect.
Preview content
The update adds enemies, several boss fights and new puzzle mechanics across its preview content, along with the Spear. It does not extend the story. Keep a save from before entering preview mode to replay these areas with the story in a later update.
A September development report had already named the Trial of Cryo and described its maps, puzzles and encounters as largely finished while boss fights remained in progress. That report describes development before the October release.
Music
The 0.2.0 update includes dungeon music for the Trial of Cryo. It also adds field and battle themes for the Aurum Plains and Scala Moor.
Related dungeon
The earlier Trial of Aether introduces Aether during Chapter 1. Cryo's release is a separate addition in version 0.2.0.
