Transcendence System
October 8, 2026 at 10:43 PM
Clarify current regional mechanics and preserve historical details
The Transcendence System is AION 2's top-end progression and ranking layer on the KR and TW build. It sits above ordinary leveling and the Daevanion Board, giving high-level players a dedicated endgame loop that rewards the strongest gear and tracks performance on a class-by-class basis. As with other late-game systems, the exact numbers are tuned on the live build, so treat specific stage values as a current snapshot rather than fixed global figures.
Transcendence is built around dedicated high-difficulty content and a ranking layer on top of it. Players push staged Transcendence dungeons, earn the materials those dungeons drop, and feed them into the highest tiers of progression. Ranking is class-based, so players compete and are measured within their own class rather than across the whole roster, which keeps the ladder meaningful for every role.
The official guidebook describes Transcendence as dungeon content set above ordinary Expeditions in difficulty, played for its ranking ladder (a race to clear) and for its main reward, Arcana. The current rules on the Korean and Taiwanese service:
Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
Party size | Up to five players since the Chapter 1 update of July 1, 2026; four before that |
Entry cost | Odyle Energy. Challenge and charge tickets were removed on July 1, 2026, and rewards now come only from the Odyle Energy Cube opened after the final boss |
Stages | Four per dungeon. Every stage can be picked directly: the requirement to clear the stage below was removed on February 25, 2026 |
Cube contribution | A player below the minimum contribution gets no Odyle Energy Cube. The threshold was 1% from July 1, 2026 and 5% from August 12, 2026, with NCsoft noting it may change again |
Leaving without the reward | Since July 1, 2026, leaving a cleared dungeon without opening the cube uses a weekly allowance shared by all characters on the same server; at zero, Expedition and Transcendence entry is blocked until the weekly reset |
Mixed factions | Elyos and Asmodians can party together in Transcendence since March 11, 2026 |
Disconnects | A character that drops out has ten minutes to reconnect and rejoin the same room without losing a count (one minute before January 28, 2026) |
Retry and vote-kick | The party leader can offer a retry after a clear (since January 21, 2026), and a vote-kick replaces the instant kick once a mid-boss is down and three or more players are in the party (since May 27, 2026) |

Transcendence dungeons are five-player instances run at a chosen stage. Each stage has its own item level gate, and higher stages add modifiers on top of the base mechanics. The full roster on the Korean and Taiwanese service:

The Kina column follows the official guidebook (updated August 26, 2026). The two launch dungeons ran ten stages until April 8, 2026; from February 25, 2026 to that date their stages 4 to 6 asked for item level 1,600 and stages 7 to 10 for 2,200.
Mirror of Scarlet Desire opened on May 13, 2026 with four stages at item level 3,200, 3,500, 3,800 and 4,000, the values given in the Korean patch note. It drops a new generation of Arcana sets and the material for a cosmetic selection box. The same Korean title has also been translated as Red Winter's Affection and Mirror of Blazing Yearning in some coverage; this page uses NCsoft's English name.
NCsoft added Abyssal Horn Den on July 1, 2026 with Chapter 1 and published the English name on July 6. NCsoft's English announcement gives level 50 and a minimum item level of 3,500; the Korean patch notes list item level 3,800, 4,100, 4,500 and 4,800 for its four stages. Strategy write-ups describe three bosses, Kapu, Dhakan and Gargaum, on a layout reused from Ferocious Horn Den with tougher fights, including a clone that casts Fear, souls that heal the second boss, shared poison pools and a black hole phase on stage 4.
The August 12, 2026 patch then opened Noiran's Hidden Legacy, a four-stage Transcendence dungeon that NCsoft had announced under that English name in June 2026 (Korean 노이란의 숨겨진 유산). All four stages opened at once, and entry consumes Odyle Energy:
Stage | Entry Level | Entry Item Level | Odyle Energy Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | 50 | 3,800 | 40 |
2 | 50 | 4,100 | 40 |
3 | 50 | 4,500 | 40 |
4 | 50 | 4,800 | 60 |
The dungeon drops two new Arcana parts, named 주사위 (Dice) and 등불 (Lantern) in Korean. Coverage of the patch describes the Dice as carrying offense-leaning options and the Lantern defense-leaning options; the exact option pools are live-build values to confirm in the client. The same patch raised the contribution required to earn Odyle Energy cubes in Expeditions and Transcendence dungeons from 1% to 5%, with the note flagging that the threshold may be adjusted again.

December 3, 2025 | Monster levels on stages 7, 8 and 10 lowered |
December 17, 2025 | Unstable Stigma Shards added to Transcendence rewards; a weekly Kina scale by cumulative plays introduced |

Transcendence is a season ranking content. The season's final ranking uses each character's best single record, and since Season 2 season rewards are paid by class ranking. The Korean notes add these scoring rules:
Ranking points are not awarded if the party changes after entry, through a member leaving or someone joining mid-run; the cube is still paid, and a retry resets the restriction (May 13, 2026).
A character with too little contribution against the last boss earns no ranking points (May 13, 2026).
The clear bonus score is reduced from the first player death (May 13, 2026).
Points depend on the completion time of each stage (June 17, 2026), and second and third tier clears were raised on May 20, 2026.
Season 2 rankings paid Pantheon decorations by class ranking; after Season 2 those rewards were replaced by ranking reward boxes sold for 2 Quna each until July 1, 2026, including a Season 2 Transcendence title and a statue of Sunken Emon.
Transcendence shares the weekly cumulative-play Kina scale with Expeditions: past a number of Odyle Energy rewards in a week, the Kina from each cube drops. The official guidebook gives the current Transcendence bands:
Odyle Energy rewards this week | Kina received |
|---|---|
56 or fewer | 100% |
57 to 70 | 80% |
71 to 84 | 60% |
85 to 98 | 40% |
99 or more | 20% |
The bands were 42, 49, 56 and 63 between April 8 and May 13, 2026. Since August 26, 2026 the Transcendence screen shows the expected Kina for killing every boss and the reduction for the current play count.
For North America, Latin America and Europe, the global launch events include a Transcendence Dungeon Leaderboard on Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis. It runs from September 30, 2026 on the Advance Access servers and from October 5 on the launch servers, until November 2, with top rankers announced on November 9. Rankings are per server and per class, and players can check their place in game under ESC, Transcendence, Rank, Class.
Placement | Reward |
|---|---|
Top 10 on a server's class ladder | 35,000 Enhance Stones, 30 Unique Amplify Stones, 1 Philosopher's Stone: Revelation, 5 Soul Codex Resets, 20 Resurrection Spiritstones (Bound) |
11 to 50 | 12,000 Enhance Stones, 15 Unique Amplify Stones, 3 Soul Codex Resets, 10 Resurrection Spiritstones (Bound) |
NCsoft says the rewards arrive by account mail no later than November 16, 2026. Global service: NCsoft's global launch material ties the Transcendence tier to the global build in two places. The Transcendence Dungeon Leaderboard event runs on Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis, and the global Daeva Pass has a "Clear Expedition/Transcendence" mission. The global client's game data, as of its September 18, 2026 snapshot, also contains five of the six Transcendence dungeons (Deus Research Base, Shattered Arkanis, Sunken Temple of Life under its client name Submerged Life Temple, Mirror of Scarlet Desire and Abyssal Horn Den) but not Noiran's Hidden Legacy. Data in the client is not an announcement that a dungeon is open, so this page treats the Korean and Taiwanese service as the reference for everything else.
Transcendence dungeons are the main source of Arcana materials: Harmonious Crystal from the Sunken Temple of Life, Noble Crystal from the Mirror of Scarlet Desire, and the Dice and Lantern parts from Noiran's Hidden Legacy. Since December 17, 2025 they have also paid Unstable Stigma Shards, which can be converted into a Stigma Shard with a guaranteed recipe or a 25% recipe. Fragment: Yustiel's Trace for the Daevanion Yustiel comes from the Expedition Hall of Illusion. The April 8, 2026 Korean patch note also named the next new Transcendence dungeon as a source; as of October 2, 2026 this wiki has not confirmed which Transcendence dungeons drop it.
Dungeon | Arcana and progression rewards |
|---|---|
Scales part (from Harmonious Crystal, converted from crystal shards dropped here); the Frenzy and Pure Blood sets added with it (crafted from the existing Mysterious Crystal); Fragment: Marchutan's Trace for the Daevanion Marchutan | |
Punishing Overture, Protected Soul and Indomitable Dedication sets (Noble Crystal); a crafting material for Hero gear recipes added on May 27, 2026; statue remnants and appearance shards | |
Key and Hourglass parts; Arcana for the three Mirror sets, which can also be crafted with 500,000 Kina and Pure Crystal while fixing one option; Sync Stone fragments since July 15, 2026 | |
Dice and Lantern parts | |
All dungeons | Unstable Stigma Shards (since December 17, 2025) and Soul Codex (since February 11, 2026) |
Three Mysterious Crystals or three Harmonious Crystals can be converted into one Noble Crystal (May 13, 2026). Converting an Unstable Stigma Shard into a Stigma Shard costs 200,000 Kina for the guaranteed recipe and 50,000 Kina for the 25% recipe since February 25, 2026.

Transcendence connects several existing systems:
Fed by dungeons: the six Transcendence dungeons supply Arcana materials and Unstable Stigma Shards.
Tied to gear: Gear and Progression covers how rewards turn into equipment power, and Succession Crafting preserves that investment when stepping up a tier.
Ranked by class: since Season 3 began on April 8, 2026 the Transcendence ranking is judged within each class.
Event (KR/TW) | Dates | Effect |
|---|---|---|
Stigma Shard Boost | March 25 to April 8, 2026 | Unstable Stigma Shards from Expedition and Transcendence cubes doubled |
Daevanion Marchutan Boost | April 8 to July 1, 2026 | Fragment: Marchutan's Trace drops doubled in Expeditions and Transcendence, including every stage of Sunken Temple of Life |
Expedition and Transcendence Reward Boost | July 29 to August 12, 2026 | An event material from cubes, doubled Noble Crystal shards in Mirror of Scarlet Desire and doubled Pure Crystal shards in Abyssal Horn Den |
Transcendence: Arcana Growth Support | August 19 to November 4, 2026 | Tripled Arcana training items and added Noble Crystal shards in Noiran's Hidden Legacy and Abyssal Horn Den on all stages; first set to end September 16, then extended to September 23 and November 4 |
Chuseok Boost | September 23 to October 7, 2026 | Unstable Stigma Shards doubled in Mirror of Scarlet Desire, Abyssal Horn Den and Noiran's Hidden Legacy, plus an event coin (10 per clear on stages 1 to 3, 15 on stage 4 of the two Chapter 1 dungeons) |
Treat Transcendence as a weekly loop. The bonus rewards on repeated clears are the most efficient source of top-tier materials.
Balance the weapon track and the accessory track. Chasing only one often leaves you gated at the other when you reach the next stage.
Defer to the in-game UI for stage item-levels and dungeon names. The live build re-tunes these and the global English client may use different wording.
