Abyss Points are the score and the currency of AION 2's faction war. They come from fighting the other side in the Abyss and from a long list of PvE activities, and they are spent in the Abyss shops on merit medals and equipment. Everything on this page describes the Korean and Taiwanese service unless it says otherwise. As of October 7, 2026, NCsoft has not published Abyss Point rules for the global servers.
Source | Rule on the Korean service |
|---|---|
Killing enemy players | Full points against enemies of your level or higher. Against lower-level enemies the reward drops 20% per level of difference and reaches zero at five levels (November 21, 2025). The same victim pays out at most three times per day, and victims of a higher Abyss rank are worth more than lower-ranked ones. Party members in range split the reward equally. |
Rank bonus | Every rank has received the same 30% bonus to Abyss Point gains since February 11, 2026. From December 3, 2025 until then, the bonus started at 30% for the lowest rank, fell by 3% per rank to 3% at 1st-class Soldier, and did not apply from 1-star Officer up. |
500 points per win, up to 30 wins a week, and 300 points per match played, up to 10 a week (since April 8, 2026) | |
3,000 points and a gold merit medal per win, three times a week, and 1,000 points and a silver merit medal for taking part, three times a week (since April 8, 2026). Both rewards were raised again on July 1, 2026 without published figures. | |
Dimensional Cores and Abyss bosses | Contributors to a Dimensional Core kill receive Abyss Points, an amount raised on March 25, 2026. Boss merit boxes also contain points. |
Quests and events | Duty and directive quests, supply requests, the Shugo Festa and Dimensional Invasion all pay Abyss Points. |
PvP inside a Rift counts. Turning PvP mode on there grants a buff that raises Abyss Point gains (December 24, 2025). | |
Abyss monsters | Killing monsters in the Abyss is, with killing enemy players, one of the two main ways to earn points named in the official guidebook |
The cap has been reworked several times. The table gives each version in order; the last row is the latest stated rule.

Date | Cap |
|---|---|
December 3, 2025 | 200,000 a week from hunting and 200,000 a week from PvP, with a season total of 2,500,000 across both |
December 24, 2025 | One combined weekly cap of 400,000. Points from PvP in the open field outside the Abyss stopped counting toward the cap; points from PvP in the Abyss and in Rifts still count. |
March 11, 2026 | Once the cap is reached, Rifts keep paying a much smaller amount |
July 1, 2026 | The patch note says the gain limit was adjusted in units of one million, without giving a new figure |
The official guidebook's Abyss page (updated September 23, 2026) describes the current rule. Abyss Points have weekly and season maximums, which can be checked through an icon at the top left of the screen. Only points earned inside the Abyss count toward them: points from supply requests, the Shugo Festa and Dimensional Invasion have no limit. After the limit is reached, Spacetime Rifts still pay a much smaller amount.
Points earned in the Abyss Corridor have been excluded from the daily PvE limit since November 26, 2025. On December 24, 2025 a fault let PvP inside Rifts bypass both the cap and the daily limit on repeat kills of the same target until a temporary maintenance at 17:30 that day. NCsoft suspended 44 accounts for seven days and removed the excess points along with anything made from them.
Dying in PvP used to cost Abyss Points. The loss was cut by about half on December 24, 2025, and since February 11, 2026 death costs no Abyss Points at all. It lowers ranking points instead, which feed Abyss Ranks. The ranking point loss itself was reduced sharply on February 25, 2026, and repeated deaths on the same day lose progressively less.
Item | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Silver merit medal | 10,000 Abyss Points | 20 per character per week since April 8, 2026 |
Gold merit medal | 30,000 Abyss Points | 10 per character per week since April 8, 2026 |
Platinum merit medal | 100,000 Abyss Points | Required the General rank when the exchange opened on February 11, 2026 |
When the medal exchange opened on February 11, 2026, each medal had a weekly limit of ten and a minimum rank. Medals can also be converted upward (silver into gold or platinum, gold into platinum) and, since March 25, 2026, back down.
Abyss Points also buy Abyss equipment in the Abyss shop, pay for raising the Potential of Abyss gear together with Potential Amplification Stones (since April 8, 2026), and are a material in the Succession Crafting recipes that upgrade lower tiers of Abyss gear into higher ones (since May 27, 2026). Rank requirements on buying the higher tiers of Abyss gear were lifted on March 25, 2026.
The October 7, 2026 update added a Stigma Shard product to the Abyss shop, and a Daevanion Crystal: Azphel listing at a lower Abyss Point price than before.
Abyss Points carry over between seasons. When Chapter 1 began on July 1, 2026, the Abyss exchange shop added new products without resetting anyone's purchase history, and players kept their existing points.
The global launch notices of October 2026 do not cover Abyss Points; see Abyss Ranks for how ranking points, a separate track, decide ranks.
