The Dart Phone is a tranquilizer gadget disguised as a smartphone in 007 First Light. It fires darts that disorient enemies, lure them toward chosen locations, and remotely activate environmental objects. It is the quietest combat-capable gadget in the catalog.
Function
Mode | Effect |
|---|---|
Anti-personnel | Dart disorients the target briefly; opens a pickpocket window |
Environmental trigger | Dart hits an object and activates it (trigger a phone ring, start an engine, ring a doorbell) |
Lure | Dart fires into a location to draw enemies to that point |
Unlock
Unlocked in Chapter 5 (A New Home), one chapter after the Q-Watch and Q-Lens are introduced at The Heart of the Matter.
Trade-Off
Bringing the Dart Phone instead of the Laser Strap means Bond cannot slice locks open quietly. Locked doors must be kicked, with the noise risk that implies. The trade-off is deliberate; the gadget loadout is the design's main strategic-commitment lever.
Use in Collectible Hunting
The Dart Phone is one of the two recommended gadgets for 100% Collectibles cleanup, alongside the Laser Strap. Its darts let Bond distract a guard or pickpocket target from range: firing a dart at a patrolling staffer or at a nearby object (a vacuum cleaner, for example) pulls that person out of position long enough to steal a key or slip into a restricted room where a collectible is stored. Several collectibles are reachable only after pickpocketing a keycard this way.
