Overview

Sturdy Rapier is a Rare / Epic rapier-class melee weapon in Windrose. A slender steel rapier, seemingly made for friendly meetings beyond the city limits at dawn.

Rapiers are one-handed Pierce weapons that scale with Precision, making them the default melee pick for Precision-oriented builds. They pair naturally with an off-hand Pistol for a Precision dual-threat loadout.

Rare and Epic variants share a base effect. Ascending the Rare to Epic at the Weaponsmith Workshop preserves the Rare effect and stacks an additional bonus on top.

Craft at the Weaponsmith Workshop (Level 1). Base recipe: Copper Ingot x7, Rough Hide x2.

Ascension to Epic

Ascending the Rare variant at the Weaponsmith Workshop converts it into the Epic variant and unlocks the Epic bonus line. Ingredients: Sturdy Rapier x1, Tumbaga Ingot x7. How to Obtain

• Dropped from pirate camp chests and late-Foothills Buccaneer chests.

• Sturdy-prefixed rapiers share loot with other Reliable-line gear.

Tactical Usage

Highest-scaling rapier. The wider Perfect Block window at Rare plus +20% Critical Damage at Epic make it the best raw-DPS duelist pick when a Rapier of a Thousand Cuts bleed build isn't on the table.

Thrust-first patterns punish over-commits more than sweeping slashes. Keep the distance short but not point-blank so light attacks can feed stacks or marks before committing to a heavy.

Talent Synergies

Precision-scaling weapons pull from the Marksman branch of the Talent System. Relevant picks include talents that boost Pierce damage, Critical Damage, Bleed damage, and Temporal Health conversion. Precision rapier builds also benefit from pistol-synergy talents, since the typical rapier loadout uses a Pistol off-hand.

• Rapier: Uncommon, 205 Pierce, Precision (B). no special effect

• Rapier of a Thousand Cuts: Rare / Epic, 125 Pierce, Precision (C at Rare, B at Epic). Dealing Damage applies Bleeding. Stacks up to 5 times. Each stack deals 25 Damage per second.

• Rapier of Devastation: Rare / Epic, 210 Pierce, Precision (- at Rare, B at Epic). Light Attacks apply up to 8 Plague marks. Heavy Attacks consume all accumulated marks, dealing bonus Damage for each.

Bleed Swap Partner

Beyond the single-weapon duelist role, the Sturdy Rapier doubles as the damage half of a two-rapier Bleed rotation. The pairing leans on the Rapier of a Thousand Cuts to front-load Bleed: light-attack with the Thousand Cuts weapon until all five Bleed stacks land on the target, then swap to the Sturdy Rapier for the rest of the engagement. Bleed ticks continue for their duration regardless of which rapier is held, so the Sturdy Rapier gets to swing at its 215 Pierce base (Rare) or 380 ATK at Item Level 15 while the stacks still deal 25 damage per second each.

Why the Sturdy Rapier is the swap target. Its Precision A scaling at Rare (S at Epic) converts stat investment into per-swing damage more efficiently than any other rapier in the roster, and its Rare passive widens the Perfect Block window, which fits the close-range kiting pattern the Bleed swap runs. The wider block window means a committed attack interruption during the swap animation is more survivable than on a rapier without that passive. The +20% Critical Damage Epic bonus layers cleanly on top of any headshot or high-crit loadout.

Limits to this pairing. Swapping out of the Thousand Cuts weapon disables the Epic Temporal Health return, so this is a Rare-parallel pattern or an Epic loadout that deliberately trades sustain for burst. Builds that depend on Temporal Health for boss sustain should stay on the Thousand Cuts weapon and give up the Sturdy Rapier's higher base damage.
