Initial consumables category landing page
Consumables in Windrose cover every item that can be eaten, drunk, applied, or used up in a single action. The category groups together food, potions, elixirs, grogs, medicine, ship repair kits, and pet-summoning whistles. This page is the hub for those sub-categories; each links to the dedicated article with full recipes, effects, and tactical notes.
Category | What It Does | Stacks With |
|---|---|---|
Temporary stat buffs (health, stamina, Strength, Agility, Precision, Vitality) | Up to two food buffs and one drink buff at once | |
Alchemy buffs that raise damage, critical damage, or damage resistance | Stacks on top of food buffs | |
Medicine (Minor Healing Potion, Healing Potion, Great Healing Potion, Bandages) | Restores lost health either instantly or over time | Heals are not a buff; they do not use a buff slot |
Naval and combat drinks that raise damage, reload speed, or damage resistance | Stacks with food; treated as the drink buff slot | |
Patches ship hull damage out of combat or mid-fight depending on tier | Consumed on use; does not occupy a buff slot | |
Summons a temporary pet companion (boar or crocodile) | Independent pet slot; does not share with buff slots | |
Teleports the player to their last revival point | One-shot utility; no stacking |
Food rarity determines how long a buff lasts. Raw foraged foods give a short 7-minute max-HP boost with no stat bonus, while cooked recipes at a Cooking Fire grant 15 to 30 minutes of stat buffs. Elixirs crafted at the Alchemy Table run 15 minutes at base rarity and 30 minutes in their Infused Epic form.
Rarity | Duration | Typical Items |
|---|---|---|
Common | 7 minutes | Raw fruits and vegetables, Coconut, Banana, Corn, Lime |
Uncommon | 15 minutes (food), 30s (Bandage HoT) | Basic cooked dishes, Bandage, Minor Healing Potion |
Rare | 15 or 30 minutes | Stat-boost meals (+5), base Elixirs, Healing Potion, Rum Bottle |
Epic | 30 minutes | Stat-boost meals (+20), Infused Elixirs, Great Healing Potion |
Legendary | Short single-use | Whistles, rare recipe cooks |
Windrose lets the player layer three buffs at once: two food slots plus one drink slot. Alchemy elixirs stack on top of that three-buff ceiling rather than replacing it, so a fully prepared loadout before a boss fight looks like this: a Strength dish, a Vitality dish, a grog, and the matching elixir for the fight's damage type.
Food slot 1: Strength, Agility, Precision, or Vitality stat food
Food slot 2: A second stat food, usually covering a different attribute
Drink slot: Dead Eye Grog for +15% damage, Hard Grog for damage resistance, or Gunroom Grog for reload speed
Elixir slot (separate): An alchemy elixir or its Infused variant, for up to 30 more minutes of critical or damage buff
Different consumables come from different stations. The two primary kitchens are the Cooking Fire (portable, base tier) and the Alchemy Table (stationary, needs a roof and Bonfire range). Repair kits and bandages come from the Workbench.
Station | Produces | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
Common and Uncommon cooked food | 3 Wood + 3 Stone | |
Cutting Table (attachment) | Intermediate recipes with better buffs | 10 Wood + 2 Copper Ingot |
Cookware Shelf (attachment) | Advanced 30-minute meals | 10 Hardwood + 2 Ironware, roof required |
Potions, elixirs, grogs, Homeward Journey | Unlocked after finding the first Misty Orchid | |
Bandages, Repair Kits, Combat Repair Kits, Lamps | Base level 1 Workbench |
