Glorious Hunters Side Quest Origin

Although the current item card lists no public loot source, Buccaneer's Friend is specifically rewarded by completing the Glorious Hunters side quest. The quest is offered by a Buccaneers faction contact and revolves around high-tier animal hunts, which fits the weapon's "+15% bonus damage to animals" Epic effect. Finishing the quest unlocks the Buccaneer's Friend item in the reward stack; the craft recipe at the Weaponsmith Workshop unlocks once the original weapon enters the player inventory.

Faction alignment tip: the Glorious Hunters quest sits inside the Buccaneers reputation questline, so pursuing Buccaneer's Friend also advances the Buccaneers-side standing. Players deliberately maxing a different faction (People of Tortuga, Brethren of the Coast, Smugglers of Port Royal) should plan around the reputation gain to avoid unintentionally shifting their primary alignment.
