Bellows is an upgrade extender that snaps to a Weaponsmith Workshop. Placing it inside the base station's extender footprint unlocks the recipes gated behind this extender on the base station's own craft list. It does not craft items on its own; the base station handles all recipes.
The Bellows is the middle extender on the Weaponsmith Workshop's upgrade chain. Its Elastic Leather cost comes from the Tanning Rack, and Foothills Iron Ingot from the Smelting Furnace using Foothills Iron Ore. Together these gate the Bellows behind a fully-built refining camp.
Once placed, the Bellows unlocks the high-heat forging recipes on the base Weaponsmith Workshop. That typically means the tempered and reliable variant lines: Reliable Musket, Reliable Pistol, Reliable Blunderbuss, and the Tempered cannon tier when shared across to the Shipwright's Workshop. The Bellows does not unlock weapons on its own, and it has no craft menu: it is strictly an extender that widens the base station's craft list.
Placement rule is the same as every other extender: the Bellows must sit inside the Weaponsmith Workshop's footprint radius. Snap it flush against the base station when possible; placing it just outside the radius will look correct visually but fail to register. The Bellows does not share an extender slot with the Anvil, Water Barrel, or any other Blacksmith extender; all of them can be placed simultaneously around the Weaponsmith Workshop.
Attach the Bellows after the Anvil. The Bellows unlocks tempered and tier-2 weapon upgrades that depend on recipes the Anvil exposes first.
Elastic Leather is the chokepoint material. Stockpile Rough Hide from boars and crocodiles, then run a batch at the Tanning Rack before starting the Bellows.
Pair the Bellows with a nearby Smelting Furnace and Large Smelting Furnace so ingot production keeps pace with weapon upgrade demand.
Dismantling the Bellows at the Disassembly Table refunds all construction materials at 100%, so relocating it between camps is risk-free.
The Bellows does not require a roof on its own; it inherits the Weaponsmith Workshop's roof requirement by being attached to it.
