This page indexes every enemy in Valor Mortis that has been shown publicly before the game's October 13, 2026 release. It is a reveal record rather than a bestiary: most of these have no published health, damage or attack timings, and several have been seen only in trailers.
Common Enemies

Enemy | Faction | What is known | Where shown |
|---|---|---|---|
Corrupted soldiers | Rank and file of the Grande Armee remade by the plague. The uniform survives, the body does not. One storefront screenshot shows a soldier with both forearms replaced by long curved blades grown from raw flesh | ||
None | Plague-twisted townspeople fighting with tools, torches and farm equipment, attacking in unpredictable, almost feral bursts | Revealed in the November 2025 trailer; playable in Chapter VII of the demo | |
Fourlegs | Not stated | Named only once, in the playtest known-issues list, where the studio said the animations were unfinished. No description has been published | Present in the October 2025 playtest build |
Elite Enemies
Enemy | What is known | Where shown |
|---|---|---|
Volunteers deliberately infused with Nephtoglobin inside secret training facilities. Massive greatswords, faces hidden, described as faster and more aggressive than anything before them | Revealed in the November 2025 trailer and detailed in a March 2026 development update |
Mini-Bosses
Hands-on coverage of a March 2026 build described mini-bosses guarding optional side areas, the same pickups that fill accessory slots. One was named.
Mini-boss | What was said |
|---|---|
The Fencer | A tall opponent whose height gave the first-person camera trouble when he closed distance. A developer told the journalist covering it that "The Fencer hates guns, and one build of the game has him switching to a more aggressive move set if you use one on him" |
Two caveats belong with that. The name and the adaptive behaviour come from a single account, and the journalist who reported it said plainly that he was unsure whether the adaptive version was in the build he played. Treat The Fencer as a named mini-boss and the gun-hating behaviour as reported rather than confirmed.
An Unexplained Name
A demo patch note reads that Mice dialogue was unavailable in certain scenarios. The capitalisation and the reference to dialogue point at a character rather than an enemy, and nothing else on any surface explains it. It is recorded here only so that a reader who spots the name knows it has not been left out by accident.
Named Bosses
Boss | What it is | Where shown |
|---|---|---|
General Lothaire, the Eagle-Bearer | Corrupted officer with a multi-phase fight: corpse throws, a ground slam, and growths that can be detonated with the off-hand firearm. Confirmed as the boss at the end of Chapter II in the full game | Playable in every hands-on build from August 2025 onward |
A soldier remade past recognition, with a cannon where his right hand should be and plague tissue over his upper body | Revealed in the November 2025 trailer; concept art published July 2026 | |
A Nephtoglobin abomination living in the sewers beneath one of the game's plague-stricken cities | Revealed in the April 2026 gameplay trailer |
The Bosses page collects the three named fights in more detail.
How They Are Fought
The tools are the same across the roster and are covered elsewhere: parries, blocks and a stamina-gated dash on the Combat page, weak-point pressure with the rapier or the off-hand firearm on the Weapons page, and area pressure from the off-hand Transmutations. What changes between enemy types is the read. Soldiers telegraph and fight with discipline, villagers do not, and the elites punish standing still.
What Is Still Open
As of September 13, 2026, across the official store listing, the official site, the studio's Steam development posts and the published trailers, the studio has not published a bestiary, has not named any enemy besides those above, and has not given health, damage or resistance values for any of them. It has also said it is still reworking how enemies stagger and how far their hitboxes reach, so behaviour observed in the demo may not survive to launch. The mini-bosses that hands-on coverage placed in optional side areas have not been named.
