This page collects what has been confirmed about how to buy and play Valor Mortis, including its launch date, the platforms it ships on, its subscription and physical availability, and the storefront features listed for each version. Everything here reflects pre-launch information published ahead of the October 13, 2026 release and may be revised before the game ships.
Launch Date and Platforms
Valor Mortis launches on October 13, 2026, releasing simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. The date was originally announced as September 24, 2026 and moved back roughly three weeks; the studio pointed to how crowded September had become and said the later slot also bought time to act on feedback from the public demo. See the Development page for the full timeline of that change.
Platform | Availability at Launch |
|---|---|
PC | Digital release. A boxed version is also being produced. |
PlayStation 5 | Digital release. |
Xbox Series X|S | Digital release, included with Xbox Game Pass on day one. |
Xbox Cloud | Included with Xbox Game Pass on day one. |
Xbox Game Pass
Valor Mortis joins Xbox Game Pass on its release day rather than at some later point. The developer disclosed the arrangement in a June 2026 regulatory filing, describing an agreement between publisher Lyrical Games and Microsoft that puts the game into Game Pass at launch for players on PC, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox Cloud. The same filing notes that the payment from Microsoft counts toward recouping the publisher's costs under the co-publishing deal, so the studio framed it as a clear positive for the game's overall commercial result.
The Xbox product listing also carries Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning a purchase covers both the console and PC versions, along with Xbox achievements and cloud saves. The listing marks the game as optimized for Xbox Series X and S, with 4K and HDR capability flagged on console, and does not require an Xbox Live Gold subscription for its single-player campaign.
Boxed Edition
A physical edition is being sold alongside the digital versions. Pre-orders for the boxed release opened on June 10, 2026 at a higher recommended price than the one that now stands. It was revised on July 23, 2026, when the studio cut the recommended boxed price to 39.99 US dollars, amending the earlier announcement and stating that the change applies only to the physical edition. The decision was described as a joint one with the publishing partner following a review of market conditions. No additional contents, bonuses, or collector's-edition tiers have been described for the boxed version so far, and the studio has not published a separate digital price.

The Free Demo
A free demo has been available on PC since June 7, 2026, giving players a hands-on look at the game without a sign-up or a playtest key. It covers two levels: Chapter 1: Revival, a reworked version of the pre-alpha playtest battlefield that teaches the fundamentals and closes on the General Lothaire fight, and Chapter 7, a later level built around crossing a ruined bridge toward a lighthouse using transmutation traversal. Chapter 7 is also where the rapier, the musket, and a shield Transmutation first become playable, and where corrupted villagers appear as enemies.
The demo ran through Steam Next Fest in June 2026, was extended by two weeks after being listed among the event's most-played demos, and was then brought back for a second window announced as running July 20 to August 7, 2026 while the team took the game to summer events. It has remained downloadable on the PC storefront past that announced end date, and the studio was still pointing players to it in mid-August 2026. Several hotfixes shipped across those windows, addressing crashes, performance, graphics-card detection, and upscaling support. The Getting Started page covers how to approach it.
PC Storefront Features
The PC listing describes a single-player game with achievements, cloud saves, and full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense pads. HDR output and family sharing are both listed, as are subtitle options and stereo and surround sound. The game is credited to One More Level as developer, with Lyrical Games as publisher and One More Level also credited as a co-publisher on the PC store page, matching the co-publishing agreement described in the studio's filings.

Fourteen languages are listed. English is the only one with full audio; the rest are supported through interface text and subtitles. The set covers English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Russian, Ukrainian, Korean, and Turkish.
Age Ratings
Board ratings are now published on the console listing. The game carries an ESRB rating of Mature, with descriptors for intense violence, blood and gore, and strong language, and a PEGI rating of 18 for extreme violence. Other territories are covered as well: 18 in Germany, 18 from the international age-rating coalition, 15 in South Korea, MA15+ in Australia, and 14 in Brazil. The PC storefront additionally auto-generates regional markers of 18 for Brazil, Germany, and Indonesia; those are storefront-generated rather than board-issued, so the board ratings above are the ones to go by. The storefront's own content notice describes gameplay centred on combat in a brutal, war-torn landscape with violence present throughout.
What Is Not Confirmed
Several commercial details remain open. The studio has not published a digital list price, has not described deluxe or collector's editions, has not confirmed pre-order bonuses, and has not announced any post-launch downloadable content. Nothing has been said about a Nintendo platform, a Mac or Linux build, or a soundtrack release. This page will be updated as those pieces are confirmed.
