Overview

Noodlefish is a saltwater fish species found in the ocean waters around Starsand Island. Named for its thin, elongated body that resembles a noodle, this quirky-looking fish can be caught along the coastline during sunny spring afternoons. Despite its unusual shape, it processes into standard Fish Fillet at the Separator just like any other fish, making it a perfectly functional catch for cooking.

Where to Catch

Noodlefish are found in the general Ocean zone. Head to any ocean fishing spot along the coastline, including the waters around Blue Beach and Half-Moon Bay. The ocean can be accessed early in the game once you speak with Delphin at the AquaBlue Outpost and receive your first rod.

The catch window is somewhat narrow: only sunny spring afternoons, starting at 14:00. If the weather turns rainy or the season shifts away from spring, Noodlefish will not appear.

Bait and Fishing Tips

Noodlefish only respond to Bug Bait, crafted at the Chopper station. Stock up on Bug Bait before your spring fishing outings.

• Tip: Since the window starts at 14:00, use your morning hours for other tasks and head to the coast after lunch.

• Tip: Sunny spring weather is also good for several other ocean species. Plan a full afternoon session at the coast to catch Noodlefish alongside other sunny-weather catches.

• Tip: At 109g sell price, Noodlefish are a decent income source during spring. Batch them for the Merchant Ship's arrival for even higher returns.

Uses

• Cooking: Process at the Separator into Fish Fillet. Use the fillet in recipes like Grilled Fish, Steamed Fish, Sashimi, and Shrimp and Fish Porridge.

• Selling: Sells for 109g at shops. Hold for Merchant Ship visits to earn roughly double the base price.

• Gifting: Can be gifted to NPCs who enjoy receiving fish.

• Fish Pond: Can be placed in a Fish Pond with only 1 oxygen required, making it easy to house.

• Islandpedia: Adds a new entry to your Islandpedia when caught for the first time.
