New article: Chopper crafting station guide with bait recipes, unlock requirements, and fishing integration
The Chopper is a crafting station in Starsand Island primarily used to produce fishing bait. It chops raw materials into the three bait types needed for the fishing system. The Chopper Blueprint is available from Delphin at the AquaBlue Outpost after beginning the Angler profession.
Visit Delphin at the AquaBlue Outpost on the beach and begin the Angler profession. The Chopper Blueprint becomes available for purchase at the shop alongside your first fishing rod. Build it at your Worktable and place it near your fishing gear storage for a streamlined workflow.
The Chopper produces three main bait types, each attracting different categories of fish:
Bait | Input Material | Attracts |
|---|---|---|
Meat Bait | Raw meat or fish | Carnivorous fish (Sharks, Tuna, large predators) |
Veggie Bait | Vegetables or crops | Herbivorous fish (most freshwater species) |
Bug Bait | Bugs or insects | Specific picky eaters that only respond to insect bait |
Omni Bait | Mixed materials | Fish that accept any bait type |
Each fish species in the game has a preferred bait type listed in the Islandpedia. Using the correct bait greatly increases your chances of catching the target fish. Using the wrong bait means the fish will not bite, wasting time and resources.
Keep a stock of all three bait types in your inventory or Realm Box before heading to any fishing spot. Different fish at the same location may require different bait types. The bait guide article has detailed recommendations for which bait to bring to each fishing zone.
Build the Chopper early in your Angler career. Without bait, you can only catch the most basic fish with your bare rod.
Meat Bait is the most versatile for deep-sea fishing zones where large predator fish are common.
Bug Bait requires bugs caught with the Bug Net. Build up an insect collection alongside your fishing supplies.
Place the Chopper near your fishing rod storage and bait chest for fast preparation before fishing trips.
Batch-produce bait during rainy days when outdoor farming is less efficient.
