Accessories are wearable items in inZOI that let players personalize their Zoi beyond clothing and face customization. Found in a dedicated tab within Create a Zoi, accessories range from practical items like hats and eyewear to decorative pieces like earrings, rings, and piercings. Most accessories come with customizable color options, and the Craft system lets players design their own necklaces and watches from modular components.
There are nine accessory categories in total: hats, eyewear, necklaces, earrings, headpieces, nails, wristwear, rings, and piercings. Each category offers a selection of preset items, and many can be further customized through color pickers and material settings. Accessories can be assigned to any of the nine outfit categories (everyday, formal, school, sleepwear, party, sportswear, swimwear, summer, and winter), giving players the flexibility to style different looks for different occasions.
The following table lists all nine accessory categories available in Create a Zoi along with a summary of what each one includes.
Category | Description | Customization |
|---|---|---|
Hats | Headwear including caps, beanies, wide-brimmed hats, and more | Color options; position and size adjustable (v0.2+) |
Eyewear | Glasses and sunglasses in various frame styles | Color options; position and size adjustable (v0.2+) |
Necklaces | Chain necklaces, chokers, and pendant jewelry | Color options; fully craftable with custom chains and pendants |
Earrings | Lobe piercings and a cartilage hoop option | Color options; position and size adjustable (v0.2+) |
Headpieces | Decorative hair accessories such as headbands, bows, and clips | Color options; position and size adjustable (v0.2+) |
Nails | Nail art and manicure styles including French manicures and gel polish | Color and pattern options |
Wristwear | Watches, bracelets, and wrist accessories | Color options; watches are fully craftable with custom bands and faces |
Rings | Finger rings in various styles and designs | Color options |
Piercings | Facial piercings: four nose piercing variants and one lip piercing | Limited to one piercing at a time |
Hats are one of the most visible accessory types, and inZOI handles them with a smart hairstyle adaptation system. All hairstyles in the game are compatible with hats. When you select a tied-up hairstyle, the game automatically converts it to a version that works with headwear, preventing clipping issues between the hat and the hair geometry. This means you never have to worry about whether your current hairstyle will look broken when you put a hat on.
The hat selection includes a range of styles from casual caps and beanies to wider-brimmed options. Each hat supports color customization through the standard color picker. Since the v0.2 update, players can also adjust the position and size of hats on their Zoi's head, which is especially useful when using custom hairstyles downloaded from Canvas or installed through the ModKit.
The eyewear category covers glasses and sunglasses. Options range from thin wire-frame styles to bold oversized frames. Like other accessories, eyewear supports color customization, and the v0.2 update introduced the ability to adjust the position and size of glasses on the face. This positioning control is particularly helpful for ensuring that frames sit correctly on different face shapes, since the wide variety of nose bridge widths and eye positions possible in the face customization system means that a default placement will not always look right on every Zoi.
Necklaces are one of two accessory types that can be custom-built through the Craft system (the other being watches). The preset selection includes a variety of chain necklaces and chokers, each with color customization. Players who want more control can open the Craft menu and assemble a necklace from two separate components.
Component | Options | Description |
|---|---|---|
Pendant | Heart, butterfly, crescent moon, and more | The emblem or decorative charm that hangs from the chain |
Chain | Leather cord, metal choker, standard chain, and more | The band that the pendant rests on; determines the necklace's overall style |
Mixing different pendants and chains lets you create combinations that are not available in the preset library. Custom necklaces are saved to the Custom Outfits section and can be equipped from the character creator or from a Zoi's wardrobe during gameplay.
The earring selection in the current version of inZOI focuses primarily on lobe piercings. There is also one cartilage hoop option available. However, players cannot combine the cartilage hoop with lobe earrings at the same time; selecting one replaces the other. This is a known limitation, and the community has requested more earring variety and the ability to layer multiple earring types on the same ear.
Earrings support color customization, and since the v0.2 update, their position and size can be freely adjusted. This helps players fine-tune the placement of earrings relative to the earlobe, which can vary depending on the ear shape and size set during face customization.
Headpieces are decorative hair accessories separate from hats. This category includes items like headbands, bows, clips, and ornamental pieces that sit in or on the hair rather than covering the head entirely. Like hats, headpieces can sometimes experience minor clipping with certain hairstyles, though the v0.2 update's position and size adjustment tools help mitigate this by letting players move the headpiece to avoid overlap.
Color customization is available for headpieces, and the modding community has created additional headpiece options through the ModKit, including tiaras, floral crowns, and other decorative pieces.
The nails category offers a variety of manicure styles and nail art designs. Players can choose from options including French manicures, gel polish finishes, solid colors, and patterned designs. The selection is one of the more extensive accessory categories, with color and pattern customization available for most options.
Nails are applied to the Zoi's hands and are visible in gameplay whenever the character's hands are on screen. The modding community has expanded the nail options further through custom content, adding designs like stiletto nails, glitter finishes, and detailed nail art patterns.
Wristwear includes watches, bracelets, and other wrist accessories. Watches are one of the two craftable accessory types (alongside necklaces), offering a modular design system through the Craft menu.
Component | Options | Description |
|---|---|---|
Watch Frame | Multiple frame shapes | The outer casing of the watch that determines its overall silhouette |
Watch Band | Various materials and styles | The wristband; ranges from leather straps to metal links |
Watch Face | Different display designs | The dial or digital display visible on the front of the watch |
Beyond watches, the wristwear category also includes pre-made bracelets and wrist cuffs. All wristwear items support color customization. Custom watches created through the Craft menu are saved alongside custom clothing in the Custom Outfits section.
Rings are finger accessories that come in various styles and designs. The category includes both simple bands and more ornate designs. Color customization is available, letting players match rings to the rest of their outfit or other jewelry. Rings are one of the smaller accessory categories in terms of variety, but they add a finishing touch to formal and party outfits.
Piercings are facial accessories placed on the nose or lip. The current selection is limited, with four nose piercing variants and one lip piercing option.
Piercing Type | Variants Available |
|---|---|
Nose piercings | 4 options (studs and rings in different placements) |
Lip piercings | 1 option |
A key limitation of the piercing system is that you can only equip one piercing at a time. If you select a nose piercing, you cannot also add a lip piercing, and the reverse is also true. Selecting a new piercing replaces the previous one. To remove a piercing entirely, click the blue back button on the selected piercing or press Ctrl+Z to undo.
Other facial piercing types such as eyebrow piercings, septum rings, and tongue piercings are not available in the current version. The developer has indicated that Create a Zoi improvements are planned for future updates, so additional piercing options may be added over time.
The Craft system in Create a Zoi lets players design custom accessories from modular components. To access it, click the Craft Clothes button in the bottom-right corner of the character creator screen (the last bubble-shaped icon at the bottom). From there, you can choose to create either a necklace or a watch.
Open the character creator and navigate to the accessories tab.
Click the Craft Clothes button at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Select the accessory type you want to create (necklace or watch).
Choose each component from the available options (pendant and chain for necklaces; frame, band, and face for watches).
Adjust colors and materials to your preference.
Press the blue Save button to store your custom accessory.
Saved custom accessories appear in the Custom column within the character creator. They can also be accessed during gameplay by clicking your Zoi and selecting "Style Yourself" from the "Change Clothes" menu, or by finding a mirror and choosing "Edit Appearance."
In addition to necklaces and watches, the 3D Printer feature can produce unique accessories by converting real-world objects into in-game items. This opens up design possibilities that go beyond what the Craft menu alone can offer.
The v0.2 update, released in June 2025, introduced the ability to freely adjust the size and position of accessories on your Zoi. Before this update, items like glasses, headpieces, and earrings could only be worn in their default fixed positions, which sometimes caused them to overlap with other items or sit awkwardly on certain face and head shapes.
With the positioning controls, players can now move accessories up, down, forward, and backward on the head or face, and scale them larger or smaller. This is especially valuable for:
Hats: adjusting how high or low a hat sits, and scaling it to fit different head sizes and hairstyles
Eyewear: fine-tuning where glasses rest on the nose bridge, which varies depending on the face shape
Earrings: repositioning to match ear size and placement set during face customization
Headpieces: moving decorative pieces to avoid clipping with hairstyles
The positioning feature also works with custom content installed through the ModKit. Modded accessories can be freely adjusted in size, angle, and position, making them compatible with a wider range of character builds.
Accessories in inZOI are tied to individual outfits rather than applied globally to the character. Each Zoi can have outfits across nine categories, and each outfit stores its own set of accessories independently.
Outfit Category | Typical Accessory Usage |
|---|---|
Everyday | Full range of accessories |
Formal | Jewelry (necklaces, earrings, rings) and eyewear |
School | Minimal accessories; hats and eyewear |
Sleepwear | Typically no accessories, though they can be added |
Statement jewelry and bold eyewear | |
Sportswear | Wristwear (watches, fitness bands) and hats |
Swimwear | Minimal accessories; necklaces and earrings |
Summer | Hats, sunglasses, and light jewelry |
Winter | Hats, scarves-adjacent headpieces, and layered jewelry |
Because accessories are stored per outfit, you can have your Zoi wear glasses in their everyday outfit but not in their sportswear, or wear a statement necklace only with their party outfit. This per-outfit system means you do not need to re-equip accessories each time; the game remembers what was assigned to each outfit category.
There is a community request to add a global accessory option (for instance, applying glasses to all outfits at once), but this feature has not been implemented as of the current version.
One of inZOI's notable features is that all hairstyles are fully compatible with hats and headwear. When a player selects a hairstyle that involves tied-up or pinned hair, the game automatically converts it to a hat-compatible version. This prevents the common issue seen in other life simulation games where certain hairstyles clip through hats or cause visual glitches.
Headpieces (non-hat accessories like headbands, bows, and clips) do not trigger this automatic conversion. They sit on top of the existing hairstyle and may occasionally clip with very voluminous or elaborate hairstyles. The positioning adjustment tools help resolve most of these issues.
Use the positioning tools. After selecting any hat, eyewear, earring, or headpiece, take a moment to adjust its position and size. Small tweaks can make a big difference in how natural the accessory looks on your specific Zoi.
Match metals across jewelry. If you are wearing gold earrings, consider using a gold necklace and gold rings as well. Consistent metal tones create a more polished, put-together appearance.
Craft custom necklaces and watches. The preset accessories are a solid starting point, but the Craft menu lets you mix and match pendants, chains, watch frames, bands, and faces for truly unique pieces.
Coordinate accessories with outfit categories. Since accessories are saved per outfit, take the time to set up different accessory loadouts for formal versus everyday versus party outfits. Your Zoi's wardrobe will feel more varied and realistic.
Check your Zoi from multiple angles. Rotate the camera to inspect accessories from the front, side, and back. Earrings and headpieces in particular can look different depending on the viewing angle.
Keep piercings simple for now. With only five piercing options and a one-piercing limit, choose the one that best fits your Zoi's personality. More options are expected in future updates.
Explore custom content. The ModKit and Canvas community have produced a wide range of custom accessories, including nail designs, bracelets, and headpieces that are not available in the base game.
While the accessory system is versatile, there are several restrictions in the current version of inZOI:
Only one piercing can be equipped at a time. You cannot combine a nose piercing with a lip piercing.
The earring selection is limited, with mostly lobe piercings and one cartilage hoop. The cartilage hoop cannot be worn together with lobe earrings.
Facial piercing types such as eyebrow bars, septum rings, and tongue piercings are not available.
The Craft system only supports necklaces and watches. Other accessories (hats, rings, earrings, etc.) cannot be custom-built from components.
Accessories are per-outfit and cannot be applied globally to all outfit categories at once.
Some headpieces and hats may clip with certain hairstyles, though positioning adjustments help reduce this.
Nail customization does not extend to toenails.

There are two places to equip accessories:
Create a Zoi: During character creation, the accessories panel lets you browse all available items by category. You can preview how each accessory looks on your Zoi before confirming.
Wardrobe: In-game, Zois can change accessories through the wardrobe interface. Open the wardrobe, navigate to the accessories tab, and swap items freely.
Accessories are separate from the outfit system. Changing your Zoi's outfit does not automatically change their accessories, giving players full control over how pieces are combined.
The ModKit (introduced in v0.2.0 and expanded in v0.7.0) allows players to create entirely custom accessories. Using external 3D modeling tools, players can design unique items, import them into the game through the ModKit pipeline, and wear them on their Zois. The process involves modeling the accessory, applying textures, and exporting it in a format compatible with inZOI's import system.
Custom accessories follow the same category and slot rules as built-in items. A custom hat occupies the hat slot, custom glasses take the glasses slot, and so on. There are no special restrictions on custom content beyond the standard technical requirements.
Custom accessories (and other user-created content) can be shared with other players through Canvas, inZOI's community content platform. Uploading an accessory to Canvas makes it available for download by any player. Canvas supports ratings and categories, making it easy to find popular community-created accessories.
To download a shared accessory, browse Canvas from the main menu or in-game, find the item you want, and subscribe to it. The accessory will appear in your Create a Zoi and wardrobe menus alongside the default items.
