Mounts
August 26, 2026 at 10:28 AM
Hedged the faction dungeon event section so the mount pool is not presented as currently running
A mount in Soulbound: Online is a rideable Key Item that raises your travel speed across the overworld. There is no stable, no feeding, no mount levelling and no mount combat. You own the item, you set one as your default, and you summon it when you want to cover ground.
Mounts are rewards rather than purchases. They come out of achievements, live events, community competitions and the occasional quest, and none of them is tradable, so what you are riding says something about what you have actually done.
Mounts live in a section of your bag rather than in an equipment slot.
Open your Bag and go to Key Items, then Mounts.
Set the mount you want as your default.
Press Y to summon it, and Y again to put it away.
Speed is a flat multiplier on your movement, and the practical spread across the live roster runs from a shade above walking pace to double it. Anything at 2x is the current ceiling, and there are several ways to reach it, so a slow mount is a cosmetic choice rather than a permanent handicap.
Two mounts are tied to named achievements with an exact requirement. Two more are recorded only as higher-tier achievement rewards, without the specific achievement being pinned down.
Mount | Requirement | Speed |
|---|---|---|
Blue Syringe | Chemistry Adept: reach Chemistry level 75 | 2x |
Purple Syringe | Chemistry Master: reach Chemistry level 99 | 2x |
Amethyst Speedboard | A higher-tier achievement reward | 1.625x |
Azure Speedboard | An achievement reward | 1.625x |
The two syringes deserve a warning. Their requirements are recorded as Chemistry level 75 and level 99, while other progression documentation for the game's first chapter describes a far lower ceiling on any individual skill. Those two statements cannot both be the whole story, and the build does not publish one settled number, so this page reports the achievement requirement exactly as written and asserts no ceiling of its own. Treat both syringes as long-run targets. The wider achievement ladder is covered on Achievements.
Mount | Source | Speed |
|---|---|---|
Broken Mount | The quest Board Broken, Ego Bruised | 1.05x |
Koi Fish | Fishing event loot crate, from We're Gunna Need a Bigger Boat | 2x |
Floppy Disk | The Abyssal Paradox event | 1.625x |
The Broken Mount is the joke of the set, barely faster than walking, and it is also the easiest mount in the game to get. The Koi Fish is the one worth planning around: the fishing event that pays it runs on a short repeating window, so it comes back around rather than being a one-off. See Live Events and Commissions for the current event schedule.
Faction dungeon events hand out a rotating pool of mounts. These are community competitions rather than an in-client feature: players commit permanently to one of three factions, Arcadia Defence, Virelda Rebellion or Neo-Tilus Smugglers, then race a nominated daily dungeon for the fastest clear in both solo and group brackets. Entry and submission are handled through the game's official community server rather than in the client. Daily winners take a mount and cosmetic loot box, and their wins bank toward a weekly faction standing that pays the whole winning faction an exclusive cosmetic. The most recently documented run was the one around the pre-launch demo period, so read the list below as what has been handed out rather than as what is on offer today.
Mount | Speed |
|---|---|
Bone | 2x |
Broom | 2x |
Cyber Rug | 2x |
Keyboard | 2x |
Matrix | 2x |
Pencil | 2x |
Pizza | 2x |
Coffin | 1.5x |
Red Car | 1.5x |
Unicycle | 1.35x |
Love Cushion | 1.25x |
Skateboard | 1.25x |
Because the pool rotates with each event, a mount that is not currently listed may return. None of them is sold, and none of them can be traded to you by another player.
The Celebration Rocket, at 1.5x, was handed out for taking part in the Early Access pricing survey and has no other source. A further group of mounts documented before Early Access is flagged as possibly no longer obtainable, and several of those belong to the retired browser build rather than to the current game. Any list that mixes them in with the tables above is a historical record, not a shopping list.
Speeds and sources on this page were last confirmed shortly after the patch of 20 August 2026, which makes mounts one of the better-maintained corners of the game's community record. Sources rotate, particularly on the community-event side. For the non-combat companions that use a proper equipment slot rather than a key item, see Followers and Pets; for getting around without one, see The Overworld and Getting Started.
