Monotype Beta

Moved the second-beta sections to past tense, stated the basis for the Round 1 duration figure, noted Rex's later 5-star Hero listing, corrected the opening image caption

The Monotype Beta Test was the first global closed beta for Silver Palace. It was a small-scale test with a data wipe afterward and no in-game purchases. Access was personal, non-transferable, and device-locked. The minimum age requirement was 18.

Round 1 concluded on January 18, 2026, and its build is no longer playable. Participants who completed the required surveys during Round 1 (the Experience Survey plus one of the two in-depth surveys, gated behind reaching Act II, Scene IV of the main quest) were marked eligible for the next round of testing.
The second closed beta test is named the Dichotomy Beta Test, and Round 1 is referred to in official materials as the "Identity Test." Registration opened on June 26, 2026 and closed on July 16, 2026 at 23:59 (UTC+8). Like Round 1, it was a limited PC (Windows) test with no in-game purchases and a full progress reset at the end. Selected applicants were notified by email and could confirm access through a "Check Test Access" option on the official website.
Dichotomy was described as the largest playable update to that point. It introduced a playable male protagonist, a cast of new characters, and expanded story content. New areas of Silvernia that were only partially accessible during the Identity Test were opened, alongside new open-world content and gameplay systems. The combat system was rebuilt for that test around dodging, parrying, Stamina management and a Stun buildup mechanic. The core loop was unchanged: players returned as detectives, took on new cases and mysteries across the city, and used clues to piece together their investigations. A gameplay showcase released in July 2026 previewed the Dichotomy build, spotlighting the female protagonist's investigations and open-world activities including driving, chess, and board games.
This showcase was titled "The Raven and the Rose," referring to the Detective as The Raven and the dancer Red Rose as The Rose. Alongside the Dichotomy build, official character title pages introduced Rex, a Superintendent of the River Constabulary. Their combat kits were not detailed at the time, though Rex was later listed as a 5-star Hero in the second test's banner announcements.
The recruitment announcement included an updated two-tier PC system requirements sheet for the Dichotomy build, adding an official minimum tier alongside the recommended tier. The Windows-only test lists the following specifications, which are for an under-development build and not final:
Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Operating System | Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 21H2 | Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 21H2 or higher |
CPU | Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or equivalent | Intel Core i7-12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or equivalent and above |
GPU | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB or AMD Radeon RX 580 8 GB or equivalent | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT or equivalent and above |
Video Memory | 6 GB | 8 GB or higher |
RAM | 12 GB | 16 GB or higher |
Storage | 65 GB available SSD space (an additional 25 GB is required during extraction) | 65 GB available SSD space (an additional 25 GB is required during extraction) |
The play period for the second closed beta was subsequently confirmed. The test ran from July 23, 2026 at 10:00 to August 13, 2026 at 10:00 (UTC+8), a window of three weeks and substantially longer than the five days of Round 1.
Access was distributed in waves rather than all at once, and applicants could confirm their status either through a test access page on the official website using the email address given at registration, or through a notification message sent to that address. As in Round 1 the test was PC and Windows only. Access was strictly personal and could not be transferred, shared or sold, and it bound to the device used for the first login: signing in from a different device resulted in a ban and disqualification from further participation.
A pre-download client was made available to those with confirmed access. The launcher verified device and driver versions before allowing the download, so hardware below the stated minimum blocked installation rather than merely degrading performance. Installation on a solid state drive was recommended by the launcher itself, which warned when the chosen path sat on a mechanical drive.
Alongside the Dichotomy beta, the team scheduled a 2026 global game and animation exhibition tour featuring build demonstrations, booth events, limited-edition merchandise, and new-content reveals:
Event | Location | Dates |
|---|---|---|
Anime Expo | Los Angeles | July 2-5, 2026 |
Japan Expo | Paris | July 9-12, 2026 |
Bilibili World | Shanghai | July 10-12, 2026 |
Firefly ACG EXPO | Guangzhou | July 17-20, 2026 |
Anime NYC | New York City | August 20-23, 2026 |
Gamescom | Cologne | August 26-30, 2026 |
Gamescom Asia | Bangkok | October 29 to November 1, 2026 |
The Dichotomy Beta replaced this build in July 2026, and itself ran from 23 July to 13 August 2026 before closing. Much of what is documented on this page is now first-build history rather than current behaviour: the combat system was rebuilt around parries and executions, the roster expanded well beyond seven characters, the protagonist became a choice between a male and a female Detective, and the case structure gained a multiple-ending format.
This page is kept as a record of the first test. Where it disagrees with the second beta's documentation, the newer build is the accurate one.
