Overview

Pikachu is an Electric-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Mouse Pokemon (Dex #079). Pikachu is found exclusively in Palette Town at the Picnic Set habitat and carries the Generate specialty for powering machines. The game also features a unique variant called Peakychu, a pale Pikachu exclusive to Bleak Beach with its own distinct story and specialty.

Habitat

Pikachu lives in the Picnic Set habitat. However, Pikachu only appears when this habitat is built in Palette Town. In all other areas, Pichu is the only Pokemon that spawns at picnic sets.

Location

Pikachu is exclusive to Palette Town. This is the only area in the game where Pikachu will spawn at a Picnic Set habitat. Building the same habitat in Withered Wasteland, Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, or Sparkling Skylands will attract Pichu instead.

How to Befriend

Build the Picnic Set habitat in Palette Town by placing a picnic basket, two seats and a table together. After a short wait, Pikachu will appear at the habitat. Walk up and interact with it to add Pikachu to your island.

Specialty: Generate

Pikachu has the Generate specialty, the same specialty as Magnemite. Pokemon with this specialty will power nearby machines during their free time. Place Pikachu near electrical devices, lights, or appliances, and it will keep them running. Generate is also required for the Electrifying Soup recipe.

Peakychu Variant

Peakychu is a unique, pale variant of Pikachu that is exclusive to Pokemon Pokopia. It is the first new Pikachu variant since Pichu was introduced in Generation 2. Peakychu appears only in Bleak Beach and has a distinct backstory tied to the region's electricity restoration quest.

Peakychu's Story

According to Peakychu's Pokedex entry, she repeatedly shared her electricity with sick friends until her physical structure changed permanently. She can no longer generate electricity on her own but can manipulate it from external sources. Peakychu is noticeably paler than a standard Pikachu, has a smaller tail, and emits a soft glow when you are nearby.

How to Find Peakychu

1. Unlock Bleak Beach by completing the Withered Wasteland quests and reaching the Great Trainer Rank.

2. Progress through the Bleak Beach story missions, which center around restoring light and electricity to the area.

3. Complete the Brighten Things Up quest line. Activate all five charging stations in Bleak Beach.

4. After meeting Mosslax and continuing the story, Meowth will spot someone lying on the ground in another part of Bleak Beach. This dialogue is the trigger that spawns Peakychu.

5. Find and speak to Peakychu to recruit her.

Peakychu's Specialty: Illuminate

Unlike regular Pikachu's Generate specialty, Peakychu has the Illuminate specialty. Pokemon with this specialty help light up buildings on your island. Peakychu cannot generate electricity but can channel and distribute existing light sources.

Peakychu cannot be obtained outside of the Bleak Beach questline. There is no habitat you can build to attract her; she only appears through story progression.

Tips

• If you want Pikachu specifically, make sure to build the Picnic Set in Palette Town. Building it anywhere else will only attract Pichu.

• Both Pikachu (Generate) and Peakychu (Illuminate) are useful for managing electricity on your island, but they serve different roles.

• Place electronics, glass objects, and round items near Pikachu's habitat to raise its Comfort Level.

• Peakychu's quest is missable if you skip through Meowth's dialogue. Pay attention to cutscenes in Bleak Beach to trigger her spawn.
