Overview
The Coast is the second biome in Outbound. It was added in the October 2025 beta build (v0.7.6) and first revealed during the gamescom Xbox showcase. The biome features tropical shores, rocky cliffsides, forests of gigantic redwood trees, and sandy beaches lined with palm trees. An old lighthouse is its most prominent landmark.
Geography
The Coast stretches along a varied shoreline. Wide sandy beaches transition to dramatic rocky cliffs with redwood forests towering above the canopy. Coastal streams and small rivers wind through the terrain, providing water sources for farming and energy generation. Some clifftop overlooks and dense forest interiors are only reachable on foot.

The lighthouse
The most recognizable landmark in The Coast is an old lighthouse perched atop the highest cliff. Visible from a long distance, it works as both a navigation reference and a point of interest. The area around the lighthouse contains resources and environmental storytelling elements.

Energy conditions
The Coast provides good conditions for multiple energy types. Clear coastal skies support solar panels during the day. The sea breeze delivers consistent wind for turbines. Streams and tidal areas work well with water generators. Vegetation along the shore supplies material for biomass. This balanced profile makes The Coast a comfortable second biome for players expanding their energy infrastructure.

Resources
The Coast introduces resources not found in The Outdoors. Redwood trees produce high-quality timber. Coastal rock formations yield stone varieties distinct from inland deposits. Tropical plants and unique mushroom species expand the crafting and cooking catalog.
