Overview
Outbound's full release is rolling out across all of its supported platforms in two staggered waves in May 2026. Wave 1 (PC and Xbox Series X|S) launched on Monday, May 11, 2026. Wave 2 (PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2) launched Thursday, May 14, 2026, completing the multi-platform rollout. The game is developed by Square Glade Games and published by Silver Lining Interactive. Digital downloads are available on every supported storefront, with physical editions for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Xbox Series X and Series S are digital-only.
Release Dates
The launch was split across two waves to avoid a head-to-head release window with another high-profile title and to honor finalized console certification windows.
Wave | Date | Platforms |
|---|---|---|
Wave 1 | Monday, May 11, 2026 | PC (Steam), PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S |
Wave 2 | Thursday, May 14, 2026 | PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 |
The game was originally announced with a Q2 2026 release window, then narrowed to April 23, 2026 after the Steam Next Fest demo wrapped. In April 2026 the studio first delayed launch to May 14, then pulled the PC and Xbox versions forward to May 11. The console certification timelines for PlayStation, Switch, and Switch 2 stayed on May 14.
Xbox Game Pass
Outbound is available day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass starting Monday, May 11, 2026. The game is playable through Xbox Cloud Gaming, on Xbox Series X|S consoles, and on PC via the Xbox app on Windows. The lower Game Pass tiers (Premium and Standard) do not include Outbound. Subscribers do not need to pre-purchase the digital edition to install the game on Xbox or PC.
Pricing and Editions
Outbound is available in three editions. All editions include the full base game with access to all biomes, the complete crafting system, and online co-op for up to four players. Digital pricing is uniform at $24.99 USD across every storefront on every platform. The physical SKUs are priced higher to cover packaging and the bundled DLC.
