Overview
Outbound is a moderately lightweight game built in Unity with a stylized art direction. The system requirements reflect its focus on accessibility: even lower-end hardware from 2017 onwards can run the game at minimum settings. The recommended specs target smoother performance at higher quality levels, particularly during multiplayer sessions with up to four players.

Performance Notes
The free Steam demo (version 1.0.0.5) provides approximately three hours of content and is a good way to test performance on your hardware before purchasing. Over 50,000 players tried the demo during Steam Next Fest in February 2026, and it received a "Very Positive" rating. Players running the demo on minimum-spec hardware have reported stable frame rates in the demo's single biome. Performance in the full game with all four
biomes loaded may differ, particularly in co-op sessions where additional players increase the rendering and network load.
