Monsters & Memories opens Early Access on 1 October 2026 with 28 zones. The figure is stated directly in the official material and counts outdoor zones, dungeons and mini-dungeons together. Nineteen of the 28 are named. The remainder are an unnamed island expedition and several unlisted mini-dungeons and secret locations that the developers have deliberately left off the list.
The zones support what the official material calls a fully fleshed out 1 to 60 levelling path, running through cityscapes, outdoor zones, dungeon zones, overland dungeons and ocean zones. Five zone types are named there, and the ocean zones are the ones with no obvious named example on the launch list.
Szuur
Szuur is the mysterious desert region and the primary surface region at launch. It holds the largest share of the named zones and both of the surface and sub-surface halves of the main starting city. See Aethoril for the region's place on the continent.

Zone | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Night Harbor | Cityscape | The Crown Jewel of the West, a massive port city on the western coast. A starting city. |
Tomb of the Last Wyrmsbane | Dungeon | Named on the launch zone list. |
Shaded Dunes | Outdoor | Named on the launch zone list. |
Sungreet Strand | Outdoor | Described during development as an outdoor zone to the north of Night Harbor. |
Tel Ekir | Dungeon | Identified during development as the Ashira dungeon. Also written Tel'Ekir in some official copy. |
Glass Flats | Outdoor | Named on the launch zone list. |
Fallen Pass | Outdoor | Named on the launch zone list. |
Fallen Watch | Outdoor or dungeon | Named on the launch zone list. Type not stated. |
Shallow Shoals | Coastal | Named on the launch zone list. |
Vale of Zintar | Outdoor | Named on the launch zone list. |
An island expedition | Unnamed | Referred to in the official material as a mysterious island expedition. No name has been published. |
Calafrey
Calafrey is described as the green lands to the north and as the enchanted lands, home of the elves. Three of its zones are named for launch.
Zone | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Evershade Weald | Outdoor | Holds Faelindral, the City in the Trees, where wood elves and halflings may start. See Starting Cities. |
Keepers Bight | Outdoor | Named on the launch zone list. |
Scarwood | Outdoor | Named on the launch zone list. |
The Deep
Six zones make up the Deep content at launch. They arrived through the module originally planned as the first post-launch update, which was folded into the launch build when the release date moved. The full account is in Descent into the Deep.

Zone | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
The Underdocks | Cityscape | A seedy underground port district far below Night Harbor. A starting city. |
Caves of Irem | Dungeon | Named in the Deep module zone list. |
Great Cavern Sea | Outdoor or ocean | Named in the Deep module zone list. |
Rothold, the Ruins of Roothold Keep | Dungeon | The official copy gives both spellings in a single entry. See the spelling note below. |
The Blind Midden | Dungeon | Added near Ail'vorith. It replaced a zone that had originally been slated for launch. |
Ail'vorith | Cityscape | The dark capital of the deep elves. A starting city. |
Cut before launch
One zone was announced and then dropped. Fields of the Lost was originally slated for launch, and the developers chose to spend the time on The Blind Midden instead. Fields of the Lost is therefore a named zone that is not in the launch build, and it should not appear on a launch zone list.
The swap is worth reading as a signal rather than as a loss. A surface zone was traded for a dungeon next to the deep elf capital, which is consistent with the same decision that pulled the whole Deep module forward into launch.
Spelling in official copy
Two launch zones are spelled inconsistently in the official material, and neither has been corrected as of September 2026.

Zone | Variants in official copy | Preferred form |
|---|---|---|
Tel Ekir | Tel Ekir and Tel'Ekir, both used in the same development post | Tel Ekir, which is the form used in the current Early Access material. |
Rothold | Written as Rothold, the Ruins of Roothold Keep, with both spellings in one item | Neither form has been confirmed as the correction. Both are recorded here rather than silently merged. |
Locations named during development
A development report from July 2023 named several sub-locations that were in greybox or blockout at the time: a Quarry in Sungreet Strand, the Pyrmos Ogre Fort, the Darrak Nor Hideout, a Ravine Pass leading to Tel Ekir, the Glacial Steps, and a Scarlet Savanna concept. That report predates launch by more than three years, and locations at that stage are routinely renamed, merged or cut. As of September 2026 none of them has been reconfirmed for the launch build, and none should be listed as shipping content.
What is not published
As of September 2026 there is no published zone map, no level range per zone, and no connection or adjacency diagram for the 28 zones. Which zones are ocean zones, and which of the five stated zone types each named zone belongs to, is largely unstated; the types given in the tables above are drawn from how each zone is described rather than from a published classification.
Nine of the 28 zones have no published name at all. They are accounted for as an unnamed island expedition plus unlisted mini-dungeons and secret locations, and the developers have described withholding them as deliberate. See Gameplay and Travel for how zones connect in play.
