Classes
Overview of the six playable classes in Mistfall Hunter and the two-weapon stance system that defines how each one fights.

Mistfall Hunter gives you six distinct classes to take into the mist, and each one is built around two weapon categories the developers call stances. A class is less a fixed role than a pair of fighting styles you swap between, so your choice decides which weapons you carry and how you approach a fight rather than locking you into one job. Bellring Games describes them as six paths through the mist, every one mastering its own two weapon stances.
The current roster is the Mercenary, the Blackarrow, the Sorcerer, the Shadowstrix, the Seer, and the Withered Knight. The Withered Knight is the newest addition, built for the June 2026 Open Beta. A few of the class names show up in two spellings: the one-word forms (Blackarrow, Shadowstrix) come from the developer notes, while the reveal videos title them as two words (Black Arrow, Shadow Strix). The Seer is sometimes called the Reverent Seer. They all point to the same classes.

Every class is equipped with two separate weapon categories, and you can swap between them in the middle of a fight. Through past playtests each weapon has settled into two mainstream playstyles, so a single class can pull from four broad approaches depending on which weapon is out and how you spec it. The idea is to let you break free from rigid class restraints and lean into assault, mobility, crowd control, or defense as the situation demands.
Not every second weapon is finished yet. As of the June 2026 build, the second weapon for the Blackarrow, the Sorcerer, and the Withered Knight was still in development, so those three classes were playable with their primary weapon only during the Open Beta. Bellring Games has said the missing weapons are being worked on and that updates will follow once they are ready.
On top of the weapon stances, your build comes from expansive talent trees, active skills you slot in, and rare gem affixes you socket into gear. See Progression, Skills, and Talents for how those systems fit together, and Combat and Weapons for the moment-to-moment fundamentals like the free-aim system and the reworked dodge.
Class | Primary Weapon(s) | Identity | Second Weapon Status |

Bow & arrow | Ranged hunter who charges arrows or stacks debuffs from range | Second weapon in development
Staff | Caster who triggers elemental reactions or unleashes Stardust spells | Second weapon in development
Daggers, Dual Blades | Stealth assassin built around ambushes and wound stacking | Both weapons available
Catalyst, Mace | Light-and-wind support caster who heals, shields, and pressures | Both weapons available
Greatsword | Heavy two-hander who marks foes with sigils and detonates them | Second weapon in development |
The sections below break down each class on its own page. New seasons are expected to add more classes over time, so the roster here reflects the state of the game heading into the July 29, 2026 launch rather than a final, closed list.
