Mistfall Hunter is a third-person PvPvE extraction action RPG set in a bleak dark-fantasy world. The gods have fallen, a corrupting mist called the Gyldenmist is swallowing what remains of civilization, and you play a warrior pulled back from death to harvest a substance called Gyldenblood and help mend the shattered Web of Fate. Every run sends you into the mist to scavenge, fight, and then try to carry your spoils back out alive.
The game is made by Bellring Games and published by Skystone Games. It released on July 29, 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with all three versions launching the same day. Cross-platform play is supported across every platform, so players on console and PC share servers and can squad up together.

The premise
The setting follows the aftermath of a war between the Gods and the Outer Gods. When the divine fell, their spilled blood seeded the Gyldenmist, and the world unraveled into madness and ruin. A fragment of the Fate Goddess survives as a mysterious girl named Dew, who weaves fallen heroes new bodies and brings them back to fight. You are one of those resurrected warriors, a Gyldhunter, sent to gather Gyldenblood and stitch the broken Web of Fate back together. The deeper lore, the deities, and the factions caught up in all this are covered in The World and Lore.
How it plays
Combat is fast and visceral, mixing heavy steel with arcane magic in fluid third-person action. Each playable class carries two distinct weapon stances and can swap between them mid-fight, so a single hunter shifts fighting styles on the fly. A precision free-aim system rewards hitting enemy weak points. The full breakdown lives in Combat and Weapons.
The core of a session is the extraction loop: you drop into a map, scavenge gear and resources, deal with both monsters and rival hunters, then carry your haul to an exit. Death in the mist strips you of what you were carrying, which keeps every trip tense. The loop is detailed in Extraction and Gameplay Loop, and the prize you are really chasing is covered in Gyldenblood and Extraction.
It is a PvPvE experience, meaning the environment and other Gyldhunters are both threats. You can fight and loot rival players, or you can run with up to two teammates as a three-player squad. There is no duo mode planned. Builds grow through expansive talent trees, active skills, and socketed gear, which is laid out in Progression, Skills, and Talents.
Classes

Six distinct Classes define how you play, each mastering two weapon stances. You can read each one on its own page:
Mercenary, a sword-and-shield bruiser who also swings a heavy hammer.
Blackarrow, a bow specialist who branches between charged shots and debuff arrows.
Sorcerer, a staff caster who works elemental reactions or stardust magic.
Shadowstrix, a stealthy dagger and dual-blade fighter.
Seer, a catalyst and mace user who channels light, wind, and psionic energy.
Withered Knight, the newest class, a greatsword wielder built around withering sigils.
The world
Hunts take place across a set of extraction maps. Three maps are confirmed: Brandrgarde, Hallowgrove (the designated starting map), and Solemn Needles. They are described in Maps and Zones. The dangers that fill them, from the corrupted monsters to the apex bosses, are gathered in Enemies and Bosses.
Mistfall Hunter runs on a seasonal model. The developers describe each season as shifting the rules of survival, adding new classes, forbidden arcana, fresh zones, and ancient relics, with periodic progression and resource resets.
The opening season is Season 1: Soul Hunt, which shipped with the game and brought the Cataclysm difficulty tier, the Path of Glory ranked ladder, and a seasonal storyline driven by a mechanic called the Fate Chart.
Between runs you return to Windrest, the hub settlement where you forge, restock, socket gems, store what you extracted, and change class.
Buying the game and access
Mistfall Hunter is a paid game rather than free-to-play. It includes in-app purchases and a battle pass, and the developers have stated there are no pay-to-win mechanics and no paid stat boosts. The Standard edition is $24.99 and the Deluxe edition is $39.99, with a 10 percent introductory discount for about two weeks from launch and a $14.99 upgrade path between them. Day-one access through Xbox Game Pass is confirmed. The June 2026 Open Beta was free to play, but that free framing applied only to the beta, not the full release. More detail is on Editions and Game Pass, and the PC specs are listed on System Requirements. The free Open Beta drew more than 430,000 players and finished the event at the top of both the popular-upcoming and most-played-demo charts. The full release passed 1,000,000 hunters within a week of going live, and more than 1.5 million had arrived by August 20, 2026.
Since launch
The game went live at 6:00 PM Pacific on July 29, 2026 (01:00 UTC on July 30). Within a week the developers announced that more than one million hunters had entered Weavereach, and by August 20 that figure had passed 1.5 million. A run of updates followed covering stability, class balance, and the first season's staged content: Soul Harvest went live on August 12, the season and contract task grind was eased on August 28 after community feedback, and Brandrgarde gained a Solo Mode on September 3, one month after release, alongside a three-day reward celebration. An Oceania server was added on August 28, giving the game three named regions outside China (International, Oceania and North America) alongside its Chinese servers, and a 10 percent autumn sale was announced for September 24 to October 8, 2026. Player reviews across the first two months have been mixed, with a narrow majority positive as of September 2026. Competitive play runs through Path of Glory, a seven-tier ranked ladder that opens at character Level 6. The running update history is on Updates and Patch Notes, and the enforcement record against cheating and teaming is on Fair Play and Anti-Cheat.
