Whistler's Sword is an Old Camp recommendation quest unlocked during Casting Shadows. Whistler sits near the market and wants the Hero to buy a particular sword from Fisk without exposing the arrangement.
Buy the sword safely
Accept Whistler's initial 100 ore nuggets, then ask Fisk about buying the sword. Fisk asks for 110. Return to Whistler for the extra ten nuggets, go back to Fisk, and pay the full price. Bring the sword to Whistler to complete the task.
Do not ask Fisk whether he was going to sell it for a hundred. That response makes him refuse the sale and fails the quest. A manual save before the market conversation preserves an opportunity to correct a dialogue mistake.
Choices and rewards

The sword is usable equipment, but keeping it trades away the quest reward and recommendation. It also has a substantial Strength requirement, so possessing it does not mean an early Hero can immediately use it. Choices and Consequences covers the other early Old Camp decisions.
