Saturas is the leader of the Water Mages and one of the dual heads of the New Camp in Gothic 1 Remake. Where Lee commands the camp's combat forces, Saturas directs the camp's magical research and its long-term project of breaking the Barrier.

Research Focus

Saturas is the figure most committed to the Water Circle's attempt to dismantle the Barrier through magical means. The Focus Stones arc eventually pulls him into contact with every Hero, regardless of camp choice, because his research touches on artifacts that the main campaign has to care about.

Relationship to the Hero

For a mage-oriented Hero in the New Camp, Saturas is the ultimate destination: earning his trust means access to the Water Circle and the highest magical training the New Camp can offer. For non-mage Heroes, he is still a meaningful late-game contact once Lee vouches for them.

Role at the New Camp

Focus Stones Arc

The Focus Stones arc eventually pulls Saturas into contact with every Hero, regardless of camp choice, because his research touches on artifacts that the main campaign has to care about. The Hero's involvement with the Stones is one of the through-lines that crosses faction boundaries.

Path to Saturas

Saturas is not approached directly. The Hero meets Lares first, builds enough trust to be vouched for, and only then gains an audience. For mage-oriented Heroes, that audience is the entry point to the highest Magic and Runes training the New Camp can offer. For non-mage Heroes, Saturas remains a meaningful late-game contact once Lee vouches for them on the combat side.

Saturas's role as Water Circle head and his shared leadership with Lee are confirmed across Alkimia Interactive's pre-release material, including the dedicated faction copy on the New Camp article and the Water Mages reveal. The voice-cast assignments published in the Voices Across the Colony series cover the New Camp leadership.
