The Old Camp Castle is the fortified centre of the Old Camp. It was built inside the ruins of an older fortification in the middle of the Valley of Mines and is the hub for the camp's leadership, combat forces, and mages. Alkimia Interactive showcased the castle in a 2023 trailer titled "Welcome to the Old Camp," which included a new rendition of the original 2001 theme by Kai Rosenkranz.

Who Lives Here

• Gomez. The camp's leader keeps his personal quarters inside the castle. See Gomez.

• The Fire Mages. The entire Fire Circle is quartered in the castle, which gives it its secondary function as the magical core of the Old Camp. See Fire Mages.

• Senior camp figures. The camp's highest-ranking non-mage figures work and meet inside the castle walls.

Access

Getting into the castle is not automatic. New arrivals typically operate out of the outer camp and the courtyards, and access to the inner castle and the Fire Circle's quarters has to be earned through quest work for Thorus at the gate and for other camp figures.

Role in the Story

The castle is the stage for the Old Camp's major political turning points. Any Hero who commits to the Old Camp path spends more and more time inside these walls as the campaign progresses, and several of the story's most consequential conversations happen in and around it.
