These short jobs reward exploration around the Old Camp, Old Mine, and Free Mine. Complete the mine errands before their chapter cutoffs and keep the required items before starting the conversations.

The Amulet

After refusing Bloodwyn's protection payment, spend a few days in or around the Old Camp until Grim approaches. Look near his hut or the campfire by the castle gate. His proposed amulet recovery is an ambush arranged in retaliation.

Follow Grim outside and defeat him and his companions to complete the quest for 200 XP. Search the small camp and chest afterward. His offer of admission help does not turn the ambush into a genuine recommendation job.

Ulbert's Storage Shed

Bring a Beer to Ulbert, who guards a storage shed by the ladder on Ian's level in the Old Mine. Offer the drink to learn that Aleph has the chest key. Find Aleph working in the upper tunnel and buy the key for 30 ore nuggets. A knockout can also obtain it, but nearby diggers may intervene.

Return and tell Ulbert that Ian wants him. When he leaves the post, the quest grants 75 XP. Use the key on the chest for five Torches, two Iron, and two Light scrolls. Finish this before Chapter 3, when the Old Mine becomes inaccessible.

Baloro's Weapon

Find Baloro on an upper Free Mine platform. He promises a weapon for five Apples, two Rice Schnapps, five Beers, three Breads, two Cheeses, and two Grapes. Most supplies can be bought; Grapes can be found in Swiney's locked chest and on the path left of the New Camp tavern bridge.

Delivering the food awards 300 XP, but Baloro reveals the promise was a trick. Further conversation provokes a fight. Defeating him allows the Hero to take the Stonecrusher and recover the food. The quest is unavailable from Chapter 4; if the weapon was left with him, it can be found on his corpse after the attack on the Free Mine.
