Simon is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, a combat expert who takes work from the merchant guild Vandahl Trading. He has come close to dying more times than he can usefully count, and he keeps going back for the feeling.

Simon has narrowly escaped death on a long string of battlefields. While travelling as a mercenary he met Talimun, the chief manager of Vandahl Trading, and began taking the guild's contracts. As of 1449 on the Dagdan Calendar he is in Talimun's employ, which puts him in the one group on the roster that trades rather than competes.
He is enthralled by the tension that only exists on a battlefield, and he keeps chasing it. His listed likes are fighting to the death, food from his hometown and womanising, and his interests are carving wooden figures and making preserves. The second half of that list is doing a lot of quiet work: the man who wants a fatal fight also wants a jar of pickles and a whittled figurine.
His profile calls him battle-hungry to his core and states plainly that a fatal blow is not enough to finish him, which points at a survivability trait rather than a damage one.
