Dagda

Added retail world-map regions, the Danann Sea and Solomon region, Coris Mine and per-Hero travel limits
Dagda is the continent on which Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is set. The name is shared with the empire's first and founding king, who is a separate subject and is covered on Dagdan Empire and Heroic Games; this page is about the landmass.

Dagda lies south of Fódlan, across the Lir Sea, which runs along the continent's northern coast. Morfis sits to the northeast and Brigid to the northwest. A second body of water lies east of the continent: retail walkthroughs name it the Danann Sea, earlier read off the map as the Danaan Sea, and across it in the far southeast lies the Solomon region, a desert reachable only by ship.

The Dagdan Empire spans the continent from its eastern to its western end and holds three vassal kingdoms beneath it. Official material describes all three as outwardly at peace while each carries its own spark of unrest. One named country, Mosa, sits outside imperial rule.
Territory | Standing | Where and What |
|---|---|---|
Suzerain | The largest and most powerful nation on the continent, a theocracy under the rule of the gods. Capital: Dagsion. | |
Vassal | At the continent's southern end, neighbouring Brezarant. Capital: Megaira. Ruled by Queen Theodora. | |
Vassal | In the northwest corner. Named settlements: Baphos, Cydonia and Ortill. | |
Vassal | In the southwest corner. Named settlement: the fortress city of Mons. | |
Mosa | Outside imperial rule | A country in the far south bordering Saramis, reported as explorable. Saramis shares a long conflict with it. |
Place | Notes |
|---|---|
Amalthea | The territory around the great lake near the continent's centre, where Dagsion stands. |
The quiet village Cai grew up in. | |
Caelus | Holds an annual Festival of Roses whose winner is crowned Rose of Caelus. Leda and Olympia both lived there before the story. |
Coris Mine | A mine in the Thaleia region, explorable as a dungeon, and the setting of the second chapter of Leda's route. |
A perch inside Dagsion where the player swaps between the four Heroes. | |
Morfis | A region northeast of Dagda, across the water. |
Brigid | A region northwest of Dagda, across the water. |
A dozen more territory names are legible on the world map artwork, including Solidus, Thaleia, Nysiades, Melias, Saveilon, Ogmios, Elektra, Castalia and Idyia. Those come from reading the map rather than from anything said on screen, so the borders they imply are provisional.
Retail walkthroughs now use these names as world-map regions, grouping the game's dungeons under Saveilon, Amalthea, Nysiades, Thaleia, Idyia, Solidus, Lambath, Pasithea, Castalia, Elektra, Braxithea, Melias and Ogmios, with further dungeons in the Danann Sea and the Lir Sea. The Nysiades Desert covers the west of the map, where one-way paths vanish behind the party and move only one or two nodes at a time. Travel is not equal for every Hero in Part I: Cai cannot cross the desert or the seas, Dietrich sails only during one chapter, and Theodora is the only Hero with a ship for the whole Part. Every region opens to all of them in Part III.
Dagda is not uniformly pre-industrial. Firearms exist and are handled as gauntlet-class weapons, and the ruined Dagda of 1454 adds automated turrets, laser batteries and quantum computers. Several hands-on accounts singled this out as the biggest surprise the game had for them.
Events on Dagda are dated by the Dagdan Calendar. The Heroic Games fall in the year 1449, and the demon god's invasion five years later in 1454.
The suzerain power is Dagdan Empire and its capital is Dagsion. Of the three vassal kingdoms, Saramis is the one with the most published culture of its own, and Arago is where the two generals known across the continent as a pair come from.
